Top criteria is that this be sturdy and stable. It is. Found it very intuitive to put together even without the directions. You can takeoff the toilet and just use it over the toilet as well which is what we really needed but it's nice to have the option. We purchased some disposable potty liners as well.

This commode is great! Very very very easy to assemble. Adjustable height AND width make it extremely comfortable and easy to use as well. This was perfect for an after surgery situation and I've also used it for an aging loved one that couldn't make it to the bathroom anymore. This is a great product, 400 pound weight capacity too. I can't say enough good things about this commode.

The padded seat is comfortable and I especially appreciate that it includes a toilet paper holder (most commode chair models don't have that)! I would also recommend buying disposable plastic liners for the basin as it makes cleaning up easier!
