Healthy and flavorful

GoodCop April 6, 2015

When I got my Rice Krispies Cereal I had never eaten this cereal before. I found it very flavorful with the lightly sweetened toasted rice grains, and the sound was interesting,{snap, crackle, pop}. I was very surprised at how such a simple cereal was so good. Personally I added a little extra sugar for my own preference. Kellogg's Rice Krispies are only 130 calories per every 1 1/4 cup, and each piece is made from a single toasted grain of rice, which is the easiest grain to digest so it is gentle on my digestive system. The cereal contains several vitamins and protein along with potassium. Rice Krispies Cereal is a healthy choice for anytime of the day or night. One serving contains only 4 grams of sugar and 0 grams of fat. It can be eaten alone of topped with fruit or your favorite topping. I found that the cereal with the milk added, really does make the snap, crackle, pop sounds as the commercials claimed. How fun is that! Also, I was able to find on the internet a website www.ricekrispies.com/recipes. On this website are all of the Kellogg's Rice Krispies products in a variety of flavors that are available. They also have innovative and creative fun recipes. This is a very simple and tasty product that I enjoyed very much. I would recommend Kellogg's Rice Krispies Cereal for adults and children alike.

An old favorite

VJJohn April 13, 2015

I loved this stuff since I was a kid. My parents didn't buy into all the fancy or flavored cereals out there, except for a rare treat on a special occasion. It was always just the basic cereals, corn flakes, those toasted "O"s, oatmeal, & Rice Krispies. I tasted these also along with their sugar frosted version. I put sugar in my non-sweetened cereal anyway. The regular Rice Krispies, after I added my own sugar, tasted the same as the frosted Rice Krispies. Nutritionally, a bowl of these have 25-35% of the minimum adult requirements of many essential nutrients. Not bad for a non-super fortified regular cereal. I'm not a big guy, but even I need at least 2 bowls in the morning to make it until lunchtime. So 2 of them boosts it up to 50-70% of many of the nutrients I need for the whole day. I found it odd though that the regular kind boasts 50% of the minimum nutritional adult requirement for iron & folic acid, where the frosted version only has 30%. Could that much nutrient be displaced just by the sugar? I'm happy to see in the ingredient list, that it wasn't a long list of strange ingredients, & chemicals. Maybe this is one of the reasons my parents only got Rice Krispies & a very few other cereals. It's great for lunch, late night snacks, or even munching on dry in front of the TV or computer too. There's no law that says it has to be just for breakfast. I had the rare joy to be snacking on the frosted Rice Krispies dry the other night in front of the TV. Wow that was tasty. Just make sure you have something to wash that dryness down with. I may get the frosted version again for an economical but healthy TV snack. I've had the regular kind dry as a TV snack, but the frosted was so much better for that purpose. The photo I included is of the nutritional info on the side of the box. I guess my phone doesn't take close-ups of small print well, but it is readable.

Excellent Cereal for many years

1anonymous123 April 6, 2015

I've been eating Rice Krispies for many years now and still love the taste. The snack, crackle, pop makes this variety of Kellogg's cereals one of there mainstays. Love the lightness of the cereal without all the sugar. I usually don't like to add sugar on cereal anyway. I've been purchasing this cereal for a long time and will continue to purchase in the future. One suggestion when purchasing online is to always check the quantity of the package. That makes all the difference in the world for pricing. Walmart has simplified this process by giving the price per ounce. This was a welcome feature for me so when I order online I am more aware as to which size and the price per ounce. As this is a 12 oz. box it is more on the smaller size compared to the 18 oz. size. Love the cereal and the snap, crackle, pop commercials.

Snap, Crackle, Popalicious

xcgfatboy April 14, 2015

Who doesn't love a bowl of Rice Krispies cereal. It reminds me of a simpler time long ago seating at the kitchen table before school with my mom poring the milk into my cereal bowl and listening to that snap, crackle, pop. To this day I love having it and hearing it. It has a good taste and the best part is you can make Rice Krispies treats. All you need is some Rise Krispies, butter, marshmallows and about 10 minutes. Oh yah, don't try to save a few cents and make it with the generic Rice Krispies. It is not as good, trust me, I tried that once.

Cereal Favorite for Years!

4BlackLabs April 27, 2015

I've always loved Rice Krispies! The snap, crackle and pop kept me company when I ate them as a child. There are off brands of krispie rice cereal but none of them are as good as the original, real Kelloggs Rice Krispies cereal! My favorite thing to make is Rice Krispie Bars! I make them healthy and chewy and add my own twists to make them the best snack/cookie ever! I use 1/4 c. peanut butter melted with a couple tablespoons of butter. Add 4 cups of miniature marshmallows and melt. Then stir in 6 cups of Rice Krispies. I then add chopped almonds or other nuts, raisins or dried fruit, shredded coconut and anything else I can think of to make them a healthy snack. Mix it all up well and pour it into a foil lined 9x13 pan. Smash it down and then wait for the most delicious bars you've ever tasted! You can lift out the foil and cut them into bars so there isn't any mess to clean up! If you've only made the plain Rice Krispie bars you MUST try mine!!! Delicious!

Great cereal

Wrchurch April 12, 2015

Rice Krispies Review It is very hard to think of Rice Krispies cereal without thinking of Rice Krispies Treats. For this review I am very glad to have the pleasure to try out this very well-known cereal just as a cereal and of course as an ingredient in the Rice Krispies treats that I ended up cooking and as a snack. So to describe the cereal. There are no trans fats or saturated fats in this cereal. In fact, there are no fats at all in this cereal. The first vitamin and mineral ingredient is iron which is noteworthy. My family has loved this cereal for many years. As I mentioned earlier, besides enjoying it with milk as a breakfast cereal (sometimes with fruit), I have just enjoyed this cereal as a snack. I put about half a cup in a snack bag, sometimes adding some healthy nuts (cashews preferably) and I am set for a good snack to enjoy. Lastly, there is nothing like making Rice Krispies Treats to have to snack on or to share with the family. I think of needing a snack and this Rice Krispies come to mind of what my mind knows will fit the bill. I usually make a batch and cut them in squares and wrap them in saran wrap for better storage. However, they never last long in my house.

Cereal Lover's Cereal

2016 July 19, 2016

There is no other cereal that compares to Kellogg's Rice Krispies. The taste is not obstructed by sugar or overbaring flavors. I love Kellogg's Rice Krispies. They have the taste, texture, snap, crackle, and pop that is enough to satisfy my senses at least once per day for the past ten years. They really are GREAT!

SNAP, CRACKLE AND POP

OriginalMrGadget April 30, 2015

Looking to reenact part of your childhood memories. Well, Kellogg's Rice Krispies has stayed true to nostalgia. It has been years since I have enjoyed their product and I wasn't let down. The snap, crackle and pop is still there. As a child I recall getting a bowl pouring cereal adding sugar and milk while listening to that very distinct sound. Since I have grown up and become a mature, educated and well informed adult (I like to think) I forwent the sugar and used 2% milk which they didn't even have when I was growing up. It still tasted great. Didn't miss the sugar at all. This was a real treat. It was fast, easy and convenient. I probably could have made it healthier by adding fruit. On my first day I became distracted. The cereal sat too long and became soggy. Don't recommend soggy. If you don't hear the Snap, Crackle and Pop you waited too long.

IT DOES SNAP, CRACKLE AND POP!

HKGCITYGIRL April 11, 2015

We enjoyed our Rice Krispies. It took us back to an "earlier" time! We had a big bowl for breakfast and added icy cold milk. No real need for sugar, but we sprinkled a bit in. Half the fun is listening for the "Snap, Crackle and Pop" and the other half is drinking the sweetened milk after all the "Krispies" are gone!! It's a quickie way to start the day and a very enjoyable one. Am I the only one who reads the back of the carton while I munch my breakfast? Reading material and life-sustaining food!! Can we really ask for anything more?? I would positively recommend this to a friend!!
