I used to love special k but I have purchased several boxes now with pieces too hard to chew. I thought it may have been just one box or lot but I have now purchased several boxes over several months from different stores with the same result. I just can't risk my teeth and won't buy this cereal any more. It makes me sad to have to stop.
I usually love Special K but the current box I have is literally hard to get through. There are pieces of really hard translucent thing which I can only imagine are actual grains of toasted rice. They are killing my teeth. I have like one bowl left in the box and I don't think I can even get myself to finish it.
I've enjoyed Kellogg's Special K as my breakfast cereal for many years. However, it has now become unpleasant - and unsafe - to eat, due to the hard, gritty pieces found in every packet. Kellogg's: Please take note of the countless adverse reviews and do something about this product.
I bought this cereal about a month ago and every bowl that I eat has very hard pieces embedded in the flakes. It is so bad that I end up discarding the cereal. I tried multiple bowls and even opened a different box to discover the same issue. Basically inedible unless you want an emergency dental visit.
I was eating this cereal today thinking how much it hurts my teeth. I decided you don't care you have had years to fix it and didn't. And decided it's really high priced and it's a terrible experience to eat. So I'm never buying it again. Used to be my favorite.
I recently purchased a box of Special K Original flakes and hadn't had any in years. I remembered the cereal fondly from the past. What I didn't know is that the recipe had changed and there are now toasted grains added which are literally like chewing rocks. These could very easily break a tooth or dislodge a filling. I am throwing the box out.
I guess I'm giving up on this product. Years ago it was my go to breakfast cereal but for me now half the box will be inedible because of the gravely hard particles that seem to be in every box. It seems to be rock hard unprocessed rice particles but I can't be sure but it always seems to be present now, straight from opening the box, and worse and worse as the box is consumed. These particles are hard enough to crack a tooth and I just threw away another third of a box because the particles are co concentrated in the lower part of the box it takes 100% of the enjoyment away from consumption. It didn;t use to be like this so why is it now? This seems to be a common complaint. It's really a shame.
I've been eating Special K for years and some boxes are worse than others but I think I just need to finally stop eating this. I'm shocked I haven't broken a tooth yet, the hard bits actually hurt if you accidentally bite one and I keep a napkin next to me when eating so I can spit them out. How in the world can everyone have the same complaint and you just...don't do anything about it except "call us" - I don't want a replacement box, just fix the clear manufacturing issue. It's legit out of control now, every bite.
Agree with all the other reviews concerning the hard bits. Kelloggs is absolutely lying when they say this is unusual as it 's been happening for years. Also you cannot talk to a real person when calling
I have tried several boxes over many months. All contain hard pieces that simply aren't chewable. This is definitely not an isolated case. Sadly I can't continue to risk my teeth being damaged.
