Great starter microscope! It's well made but not a super expensive one that a kid might break at some point. Everything that comes with the kit made it so fun and serious. Overall, this microscope is a good value based on the price. It feels like a quality product, not just cheap plastic. The lenses provided are clear and provide surprisingly good magnification. Works great and comes with lots of slides and lenses basically everything you need. My son loves it!

We got this for our 8-year-old son who loves all-things science! He absolutely loves it - and we love that it comes with so many slides! It's a great starter microscope that is easy to use. My son already loves looking at blades of grass and tiny flower petals under the microscope. It's a really neat product that encourages a growing love for science! I would recommend this as a gift for kids who enjoy STEM.

I was really excited to get this and use it for my kids homeschooling. However teh projection portion has issues where teh batteries do not make enough contact and the battery door has to be pressed in to project. This is a major issue because it feels like the neck is about to snap. The projected images look really low resolution and it can make it hard to explain to kids what the images are (from the neck projection). The microscope portion works ok but since the neck feels like it is going to snap I think this will not last long. I expect it to snap after just a few uses.
