It is ribbed which I did not know and it adds a little extra to my curtain. Darling with the chalkboard look or any.

Twist %26 fit curtain rod
Bought to replace an old rusted one left in the rental. Great quality. Thankful it's rust resistant.

eh
It is easy to install and looks good but it you re a stickler for good looks It cuts into itself while you twist it out and left little swirl cuts all the way down it. Its not something me and my kids will pay attention to at all but i know some will so just a heads up.

Some difficulty assembling one portion of tubing, otherwise great product and very inexpensive.

It's just okay
Difficult to keep up. I had this rod fall about a half dozen times. Finally, I extended it and muscled it into place, which was difficult to do. Thus far it is still in place. Not like the shower tension rods that were made years ago. This seems a bit flimsy and weak, but I do not like the ones that are not spring loaded tension rods as they are a pain to put up.

Caution advised, limited function
It's a bit flimsy and the finish isn't great. I got it to just hold two thin cotton curtains in front of my plastic shower curtain, for decor. It's up for the moment but I'm afraid to touch the curtains. Would have returned it, but lazy. Don't try to hang anything of actual substance and probably don't mess with it once it's up. You will need to twist it some more once it's up. It might bow. That said, it will probably suffice for my project.

Don't believe the positive reviews, wish I hadn't. This is very flimsy, you have to twist it out to make it longer but when you push in to try to install it, it pushes itself back together and won't stay up. Useless, I will be returning and looking for one from Target.
