Yes, this works exactly as described.
I now use this and my mouse, at same time for relief when my hand gets mouse fatigue, UNDERSTAND this has NO mouse wheel, they make models that have a mouse wheel on the side.

GREAT FOR CARPAL TUNNEL SUFFERERS
IT TAKES A LITTLE GETTING USE TO, BUT YOU CAN PUT IT ANYWHERE..AND ALL YOU USE IS YOUR FINGERS ..I HAVE TERRIBLE ARTHRITIS IN MY FINGERS, BUT IT DOESNT BOTHER THEM A BIT..

Great Product, just missing one thing...
I bought this trackball for work, as my desk is extremely cramped & I really do not have room to move a mouse around. I love trackballs, but found that this one didn't have a 'scroll option'. So, I ordered the next grade up, one with a scroller that runs around the ball & Love It More!!! So, this one is at home now & my new Kensington is helping me at work! Great deal for the price; can't beat the shipping price when you use 'Site to Store' & Kensington is a great brand!!!

disappointed
the track ball rattled in the socket. The right button was too sensitive and the left button was harder to push than it should have been. The left button was not smooth in operation.. I liked the shape of the mouse.

The ball falls out
Used many trackballs, last one gave up the ghost so I needed a new one. I've never spent more then 20 on trackballs and usually go with logitech brand stuff but this time I branched out. Looks great, works fine, but if it tips over at all the ball falls out and bounces around. Not happy, will not buy again.

its a piece of junk, if you want to spend most of your time chasing the mouse ball around go ahead buy it but buyer beware

Not easy to use. Not good for my carpal tunnel.

Would not work for me
Uncomfortable hand fit for me. Awkward placement of roller ball and Lft/rt buttons..Used another brand for several years and was very nice to use did not require movment of hand position to operate..This one did..when fingers are in the proper position to roll ball..one must reach with button fingers to press one.
