We got this bike for our 13 year old son and its perfect! We assembled it in about 30 minutes with minimal struggles! He loves it!! We both took it for a test spin and the bike shifts gears smoothly and was a great ride!!
For the price of this bike you just cant beat it. I am 6ft 3 and this bike is a great size. No problems so far on the many rides Ive taken it on. Assembly after arrival was straight forward and obviously with any bike that comes unassembled I also went over all the other bolts/nuts to make sure they were tightened. Super comfortable cruiser bike!
I had to order the bike and pick it up at the store becuase with everything going in they were sold out in store's. came unassembled so some building was in order. easy to assemble. that was the good. the bad was both tires were flat after filling with air theu just kept going flat. took the tubes out to find small slices. purchased new tubes to rectify. brakes are very noisy, possibly due to being new not sure yet. I am going to email about the tubes though. all in all a decent bike.
I bought two. One for me and one for my husband. We are both over 6 ft. The first bike took us 3 hours to assemble - directions are trash. The second bike took 30 minutes. The seat is uncomfortable for me - my husband doesn't seem to mind. I will be getting a cushion. The front wheels wobble. I have done everything I can to get them straight - I think it's just the wheel itself. The brakes are horrible. You will have to readjust the pads and the brake line itself. Even with the brakes in the right spot, it does not come to a complete stop. This is dangerous so be careful. For the money though - it's decent.
Missing the Seat Post Clamp, had to order from AMAZON, s/b here in a week. Also front wheel warped, had to straighten the spokes with spoke wrenches again ordered from AMAZON. BUT, 95% of the parts did make it, wooo hooo. Too much of a hassle to deal with customer service clerks to fix something that will take so much longer than necessary.
Bike was fairly easy to assemble until the last thing, the brakes. Brake cable is frayed at the end and 2 days later the back tire went completely flat and it has never even been ridden yet. So far, can't enjoy the$150 purchase and looking at changing an inner tube on the tire with all the gears on a brand new bike.
Cheaply made, had to replace the seat for comfort, readjust the tension on gears. Adjust brakes, spokes on wheels were not true, wheels wobbled and I had to adjust the spokes. Bike cost me an extra $60 to get things right
The quality of this bike is absolute garbage! I purchased one, assembled it per the instructions, and when I started to pedal, the rear gear derailleur broke off and got tangled in the spokes causing the bike to stop suddenly. I had to borrow a vehicle to return the bike to a local store (it was delivered to me), and the return process went mostly smooth. I ordered another of the same bike, and after riding it for approx 1/2 mile, the rear gears failed on this one in the same way as the original. This part of the bike was preassembled, so there was no chance of me putting it together improperly, I guess that explains why a nice looking 7 speed beach cruiser was on sale for $148.00. Terrible quality product, and had to deal with communication issues when I called what is apparently an overseas call center to return the second bike.
Bike came quickly and set up was easy (30 minutes). But during the assembly process you can not avoid noticing the excessive use a plastic on important parts such as the derailleur and on the hand brakes - two essential areas. The sprockets look like they have been stamped out of the tops of cans you get crushed tomatoes in - the fenders on my car have thicker metal. The seat is comfy and the handlebars are nice allowing the "sit up and beg" seating position that is so comfortable. Unfortunately the pedals on this frame are so high that a six footer will have his or her knees too high to enjoy riding. Aside from all this, I was willing to accept the low quality for the cheap price. But on my first ride around the block I shifted into 1st gear while riding and the derailleur virtually exploded sending itself into the rear spokes and jamming the rear wheel to a screeching halt. I had to walk the bike home and had the time to lament my poor purchase decision. I wouldn't wish this bike on anyone. It went back to Walmart an hour after it failed. I'll never buy a Kent again.
Derailer broke in half on the first ride. The first one! I was happy with the bike because of the size (I'm 6'3" and 240lbs). Loved how the bike looked and rode, but can't accept that it just snapped. Luckily not far from the house. Only good thing was that the local Walmart took it back with no questions and refunded the money.
