Love the bike. In my 50 something. Perfect with the basket. Ordered on line from Walmart. The staff put the bike together at no extra charge
I'm giving it 3 stars because a piece of the back brake assembly came broke. We will have to replace the whole rear brake assembly now because the brake cable just hangs down with that piece broken. Other than that, it's a decent bike. The color is very pretty. I've road it once and it seemed to ride and shift smoothly.
First of all, this is not an aluminum frame. I don't understand how this company can get away with repetitively lying about what the frame is made of. I stuck a magnitude and it stuck it's heavy it's steel. That being said for 175 bucks this is a pretty good bike comes with a lot of extras and it's pretty slick looking so I think I'll keep it. However I did want an aluminum frame because I'm older and I don't feel like lifting a heavy bike into the back of my truck. So if you're looking for a decent bike for an easy price this is your ticket.
My bike came all scratched and also the seat has a tear. I now have to call the manufacturer. Walmart is no help as far as replacement and hung up because they didnt know how to assist. The bike says mensOther than that , the bike is cute! bike in the description but once delivered it shows it is a womens bike!
Why 3 stars?.. pros and cons below: Pros: beautiful color and design, attention to detail on the seats and handles, the basket, all of the “bells and whistles” were done right. Rides smooth and has a multi-gear system on what looks like a cruiser bike so I'm all about the design. Cons: where to start.. the assembly is absolutely insane. Who ever said they put it together in an hour is an absolute fake review. This took me multiple days due to needing the tools! Yes the tools dont even come with it. 5/8th hex wrench is not common size so i had to buy a set. You have to install your own break line into the handle. I actually broke the first one i bought because it was so tough to figure out. This is my second bike..After reading the book like 3 times i finally figured out the brake line but had to essentially remove the assembly multiple times to fit the basket and the front fender (the instructions are not in order). The breaks are definitely loose but i cannot use pliers to pull the break line to tighten up so i will even have to take it to a bike shop to tighten them. Both fenders are not flush with the tires and i had to hammer the back one to align it better. One reflector came in broken from the back tire. Overall: im an engineer whos been building things for almost 20 years. This was one of the hardest assembly with the worst set of instructions. For 198$, this bike should not require an extra tool set, multiple hours of assembly, and most importantly.. putting in my own break line. Its really a safety concern, 99% of people i know would not be trusted to install a break line. The attention to detail and quality of the bike is definitely on par for the price.. but why on earth is the assembly so fn hard? Only recommend if your super technical or mechanically inclined
happy birthday to my grand daughter .... i was Not so happy. walmrt told me the date of arrival ....it was LATE !!!! it came AFTER her birthday AND there were missing parts AND a bent tire...NOT GOOD !!!! Would i buy it again - No , not for me BUT for my grand daughter ... the sweetest, smartest girl in the world ..... yes indeed, i surly would.
Great styling and comfortable ride. However, purchased unassembled and came in with damaged fenders and gear shifting mechanism and missing parts. Wasn't worth it to send back and I'm mechanically inclined to make repairs myself. Have 2 stars because once completed it is a comfortable bike and has adequate quality for the price and Walmart gave me a nice discount over online chat due to missing items and inconvenience. Bike is not packaged properly for prevention of damage during transport
I purchased for my wife. instructions for assembly were OK multiple bike assembly instructions in 1 book. She went to shift from 2nd to 1st on test ride and the derailleur engaged the spokes, bending itself. chain is now wedged between sprocket and frame. It is a cheap basic bike but didn't expect breakdown on maiden voyage. This is the 2nd return of a bike in 2 weeks. 1st was a Huffy (bent front rim.) So my wife is sad because she has no bike
This is NOT an aluminum frame bike. That FACT is self-evident in the product image and was known at point-of-sale. Misrepresentation notwithstanding,I knew what I was buying. A cheap bike overpriced due to market conditions. It's a good steel frame. Everything begins and ends there. All of the parts - brake assembly, grips, levers, crank, pedals, cables - are suitable and can be upgraded when they fail or sooner. The bike will become lighter and quieter. WORTH BUYING if you need a stylish fun to ride bike and do not need it to endure for more than a season or two. EVERYTHING on it will rust, including frame. Protect accordingly. Steel wheels. Are crap. The one thing that makes this bike NOT WORTH BUYING are the brakes. There is a reason why these center mount brakes are found only on the cheapest bikes. The frame does not support an upgrade. I freecycle bikes and give them away to kids and Moms. I see about 20 bikes a year. An aluminum frame bike will last 40 years even in the rain. A steel bike will die worthless after one season in the rain. A steel bike will last much longer than an aluminum bike if it is NEVER stored wet. Being covered with a tarp while outside is NOT an example of keeping a bike dry.
Ordered the first bike, put it together and then found out the spokes on both wheels were out of alignment, wobbled side to side so couldn't adjust hand brakes. So returned it and ordered another, this time checked the wheels first, and it had the same problem, so returned it too. Kent seems to have very poor quality control
