My wonderful friesian has battled ulcers for the 6 years I've owned. I've spent a fortune on Ulcergard, scoping, supplements and read many articles on ulcer management. He doesn't show; he's not in training. He has a nice stall paddock with friendly neighbors and a Port-a-Grazer with good hay to snack on. What more can I do? My easy going boy is a sensitive soul inside and his gut grumbles a lot. Then I tried SmartGut Ultra and Equishure. Peace at last... months now have gone by. I have not had such a long stretch of a healthy, work happy and sound horse. When his tummy hurts, he hitches on his left hind and he's grumpy. No more. He gets his Smart Pak each day and off we go.
I've had my horse on this supplement for several years. Every time I try to cut back to one scoop (he is on 2 scoops) or I ask him - hey Dude, do you really need this stuff? He answers resoundingly - YES! by producing gas and moving as if he is 4-legged lame because he is so uncomfortable under saddle As soon as I put him back on Equishure - 2 scoops - he is happy again. Seriously, why do I ask? Much cheaper than Ulcerguard. While Smart Pak is a bit more expensive per day than buying a 7.2 kg bucket and making up those pesky baggies, I decided long ago, to let SP do their job.
My horse could be the poster boy for this product. I own a 10 yo imported TB who suffers from ulcers, and could never quite gain enough weight. I did the treatment with the Omperazole for 30 days, a few cycles, but my horse was still going off his feed periodically, and always kicking the stall walls at feeding time. He also could occasionally exhibit stall walking behavior and become visibly upset in his stall for no apparent reason. I decided to give Equishure a try. I saw a difference after a few days, and an amazing difference after about 10 days. I feed it to him 3x a day, and add a little water so that it adheres to his beet pulp based grain. My horse has gained weight and is blooming. All weird behaviors have ceased, stall walking, and Stall kicking are a thing of the past! Cannot say enough about this product, there is proven research behind it, it's pricey but it works! I own a very happy and totally wonderful horse now. Thank you KER!
My 8 yo imported Oldenburg gelding has colicked over 12 times in 2 years. He has had 3 surgeries at New Bolton Center and has Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease. We have tried everything to prevent it from re- occurring, switching feed, hay, meds etc. He is beyond a textbook case. In researching what supplements might help in addition to the steroids, I found Equishure. What a difference it has made. The buffering action in the hind gut has helped him immensely. Please try this. It works.
My horse was very nervous, had a difficult time transitioning to the trot and canter, and was very girthy. On top of that, she had very (pardon the gross factor) juicy, sour toots. Determined she may have a hindgut ulcer. This dried out her toots within a couple weeks and she steadily got better about the other issues throughout the month.
I bought this I little over a month ago and it has made a huge difference in my horse's mood. When I groomed him in the past, he would pin his ears, swish his tail, and show a lot of discomfort when I brushed his belly especially in his hind gut area. Also his stool would get runny mostly in the summertime. After putting him on the supplement, he could care less when I brush his stomach. He doesn't get too runny anymore, and he is just overall so much happier. I highly recommend this supplement.
My mare was leaving feed behind and seemed not as hungry as she usually was before we started competing (50 mile endurance horse). I have used Ulcergard in the past to keep her tummy happy, but once we started competing and she started getting a bit of alfalfa as her ration I stopped the ulcergard. It didn't seem to make a difference either way on the ulcergard or off, but she still left feed behind that she used to clean up. I discussed it with a respected long term endurance rider and veterinarian and she suggested the hind gut may be bothering her. I am now on my third month and she has been eating like normal for over a month. A small price to pay for comfort for my talented hard working girl.
I have a horse who had a pretty severe colic episode that turned into colitis within a month of me owning him. After that, keeping weight on him was extremely difficult. He also would act uncomfortable when grooming and display mild grumpiness when riding. After putting him on this supplement the results were immediate and I am so glad a friend suggested it! I can even tell a difference if he misses a day. He is calm and content almost all of the time and he is also now an easy keeper. I cannot say enough good things about this supplement and how much it has helped my horse!
After a couple of years of trying many other products I learned about EquiShure. Doubtful at first since nothing I had given my mustang rescue mare had worked I gave it a try. As long as she gets her dose 2x a day her bum is clean and there is no dripping all down her legs and tail. I am able to brush her tail without gloves and her white socks are sparkling clean again!! Her manure now is healthier, it is smaller and drier much more normal looking.
My 24 yr old KWPN recently went from robust to elderly almost overnight. He lost weight and top line, had a chronic diarrhea/loose stool, dull coat, was listless and looked miserable. He typically has a hard time this time of year (late fall). Four days on this product and the diarrhea was fully resolved. He is already gaining weight and top line. His coat and eyes are bright and shiny again. He is a much happier horse. Thank you KPH.
