Excellent Producr
I've tried other mixes for onion rings, including making my own, and this is the best I've found. It coast easily and the coating sticks, rather than separating, which often happens. We loved the way it worked with the batch of Vidalia onions that we picked up when we traveled south.

Great tasting.
It makes onion rings without a lot of coating on rings, which I like since I want to taste the onion a lot. I usually keep 2 or more rings together to make juicy rings. Good stuff!

great breading
I love that you can use it as a batter for deep frying or just moisten your meat a tad bit and use the powder without liquid as a shake and cook product. Very convenient and not overly salty

Not as good.
I used to be able to buy Don's Chuck Wagon Onion Ring Batter Mix at Wal Mart. It disappeared. I don't know if they stopped making it or what, but, I liked it alot better and it didn't come with a bioengeered food product in the ingredients.

Bland, BORING
As someone else stated, the after does come off while frying. As someone who doesn't eat much fried food, the onion rings are better in the air fryer. Here's a valuable tip if using the product: add seasoning: you'll also need to add corn starch to get that crispy crunchy texture. The seasoning is because the mix itself is so underwhelming and beyond bland. Regardless of your method of cooking the onion rings, corn starch and seasoning are a must. Lastly, I wouldn't purchase this again. I know I would be better off mixing my own batter. Happy cooking all.
