This is a great little machine. I've owned Keurigs for many years including the platinum and the K500. I got this one to see how it was different. It turns out that this is a nice little hybrid of all the best features. Yes, it is a Keurig. The perfect cup of coffee is one button press away, every single time. It also has a nice digital screen which gives you options for your cup. This little machine will also brew a 4 cup carafe. It's fast, easy and everything you want from a coffee maker and then some. The only thing about it that's even slightly less than ideal is that the carafe is only 40oz.It does have a filter system which will keep your machine running smoothly longer and while, you do have to fill it fairly often if you're regular coffee drinkers, over all it's still a ton easier than making pot after pot. Your coffee is always fresh and hot. Thanks to Keurig I've completely forgotten what burnt coffee tastes like. As one last boon to this black and silver beauty, the price is unbelievable. The second this hits the market everyone in my family is getting one. You cannot beat this for birthdays, Christmas or at this price just-for-the-heck-of-it presents.
I got this keurig to update my existing coffee pot. I LOVE this! so easy to use, so easy to set up. they do come in new colors, but I received the black color. It is small enough to fit on my counter and under my cabinet when I'm not using it. it measures about 14 and a half inches between my counter top and my upper cabinets. it is not a giant machine and does not take much more space than my older pot did. has a decent size water reservoir and does not take long to preheat. this machine does single cups and carafe size! but do know that with this machine they DO NOT give you a carafe you have to buy it separately. I got the stainless steal one at around 20 bucks. I know with all new keurigs they were trying to stop the refillable coffee filters and not name brand k cups from being used. but I have a universal filter for both my single cup and my carafe. I have used both and the machine has accepted both. so I can brew my own coffee, without buying k cups. my single cup filter I got for just around 5 dollars, its purple has dolphins on the side. the carafe one is more expensive around 20 bucks, but I have used it in my machine and it does work, orange color made by eco-carafe. they also have stickers you can use to put on non keurig (green mountain) k cups. I have not tried those yet. I would definitely recommend this machine, it would be great for apartments, college dorms any place that does not have a lot of counter top room.
I love the idea of making a fresh cup of coffee (or tea or hot chocolate or....) anytime I'd like one. It's also great that I can have coffee one minute and tea the next. Really can't beat this idea. I loved my Keurig, but the 2.0 does solve a problem. Well actually a couple that cropped up. When having company over, it did get inconvenient to have to refill the reservoir every couple of minutes (in my house especially breakfast on the weekend) and I missed not being able to make a pot of coffee to place on the table during get togethers. The Keurig 2.0 K200 solved both problems nicely. Not only does it have a much larger reservoir, it gives you more choices in cup size and allows you to make a carafe! Solved all of my problems. Now I don't have to pull out a second coffee maker when I have company! Great addition to the Keurig line. I really enjoy this new Keurig!
The Keurig K200 is the first in the 2.0 line up to offer the ultimate in variety, size and choice. The K200 series also offers the ability to brew a single cup with the single K-cup packs or a carafe using the new K-carafe packs. (Carafe is sold separately). The K200 series has a new compact design for people with limited counter space, and it comes in an array of exciting and trend setting colors. Including, black, white, strawberry, turquoise, sandy pearl, violet and orange zest. The K200 series also offers a variety of brewing sizes from 4-30 oz, has a 40 oz reservoir, strength control and an easy to read black and white touch display. The K200 is a very easy to use brewer. I recommend using the owner's manual and following along as you use your Keurig 2.0 K200 brewer for the first time. With the easy to follow step-by-step guidelines and pictures, your first cup of coffee is sure to be a delicious success. As I was reading through my owner's manual I found many more features, including language settings and high altitude settings. I haven't brewed a carafe yet, as the carafe itself is sold separately, but all in all this is a wonderful unit and is compact enough for small counter top spaces.
I have owned a Keurig forever! My last one was a few months ago and had just died of old age. This one is very different and at first I wasn't quite sure I was going to like it. There's no clock, no timer so I had to make some inquiries to find out how to use it. It took me a couple of days and now I love it!! The reservoir is large and so much more convenient. It heats up faster. It's much lighter and trimmer than my previous one. I can purchase a carafe and it makes a whole pot full of coffee at a time instead of one cup, if there's company over. I had some boxes of K-cups left over that won't work in this coffeemaker but since I purchased them from Keurig, they replaced them for free, which was really nice. The woman on the phone also is sending me a free cleaning tool for this machine. They are extremely helpful and will do anything to help us understand how to use and care for this 2.0. All in all, I am extremely happy with this brewer even tho it has the least features of them all. Less things to go wrong I think!! Thank you!
The Keurig K2.0 K200 coffee maker was well packaged. The box was large. It opened in such a way that you will most likely need some room to open without any frustration. (Providing that you want to keep the box in the best condition in case of return.) Nothing was damaged. I personally have never encountered a Keurig coffee product before. I’ve seen the machines and I’ve heard about them but I’ve never used one myself until now. While I was waiting for the product to arrive I did a little research on what it used. Those K-Cups are pretty expensive (In my opinion.) I sought out a reusable product because I care about our environment and while the K-cups are recyclable, it still uses materials in their production. The coffee maker came with a water filter case and the filter cartridge insert and instructions on how to set up the filter. A mail-in registration card, a Quick Start Guide, and lastly, the manual itself. The manual does not list instructions on setting up a filter so read this. It’s not difficult to figure out on your own but it does have some specific instructions on setting up the filter that if you don’t follow them you might not like the results. I chose to follow the instructions and am glad I did so. Soak the cartridge for 5 minutes in water and then rinse for 60 seconds. Do this. First. The quick setup guide does NOT tell you to set up the filter first, neither does the manual. First, set up the filter assembly and then worry about filing the reservoir. Rinse the tank and reattach it. Fill it up after it is back on the machine. I made the mistake of filling it and walking it back to my room and splashed a bit out lol (you could also put the lid on the tank but I wasn’t thinking at the time. I was too excited about trying out this new technology stuff. I ran my initial hot water run. (I like to do this just to make sure there’s nothing inside the machine. It’s worth doing. I chose 6 oz. The reservoir holds 40 oz of water at the max fill line. After that was successful, I opened my box of K-Cups they were so kind to provide me with. (Which I will review after this). I inserted my K-Cup and I chose a 10 oz cup of coffee and I was going to do a second cup and it was already asking me to add more water. It seems to suck up a lot of water for such a small amount of coffee, Other than that there were no problems that I could see. It’s fast and easy setup and easy brewing. Stick in your cup close the lid lower the handle choose your size/amount press the button. Wait. Then about 30 seconds to a minute later (or so it seemed. I didn’t time it.) I had a piping hot cup of coffee. So I found out that the K2.0 series uses a scanner of some kind to check if it is a genuine Keurig brand coffee before allowing the use of the machine. I want to rant on this issue, but this isn’t the place. I will say that if a product removes my personal choice in favor of only one brand, I tend to not like that idea. What if I grow my OWN coffee and it just so happens to taste better than any other coffee out there? I have to settle for the subpar Keurig coffee brand? How do they know my coffee beans don’t taste as good as theirs? Because it’s not their brand? As long as this implementation exists I will not touch a Keurig product with my money. I find that part insulting. Also I am very conscious of how my living impacts the environment. Using these K-Cups irritates me a little because of all the waste. Even if I did recycle them, they’re still using new material to make more cups. I want a reusable product and something friendly on the environment. I do like all the selections available. However I know of many coffee brands that aren’t on the market in stores nearby and if I want of a cup of that, I can’t use this machine to do it because of the removal of my choice. Why would I pay 100 bucks to only have one brand selection? For the price of this coffee maker alone, I can buy about five cans of coffee, and another inexpensive machine that comes with a reusable filter, from some other brand that isn’t so… “exclusive”, and a cup to pour it in with change to spare. In summary, I find the coffee maker to be well made, functions well, and it is snazzy looking. I don’t think it’s quite worth the price tag, but it does what it is supposed to. I mention this just in case you don’t know about the scanner thing. I really suggest something else. The idea is marvelous. Far too pricey for myself, being on a fixed and low-income. I’m a bit disappointed at my lack of options. If you don’t drink coffee on a regular basis and want to keep your coffee fresh, this is a good way to do it with minimal waste of coffee, but approximately 14 bucks for 18 cups of coffee? I can buy two cans of coffee for that much and then package it in smaller packs and freeze it until I need it.
The 2.0 Keurig 200 series is a smaller and more compact version of the original Keurig with more features and functions. I chose this Keurig for my daughter who lives in a dorm room at college. If you have a young adult in college or an elderly parent with limited space, this pot would be perfect for them. This works perfect because the water tank holds enough water (40 ounces) for a couple days worth of morning coffee. The new touch screen makes directions and operation quick and simple. The screen's black and white display gives step-by-step instructions. The on-board computer can sense the K-cup and brew it as a strong cup or a regular cup of coffee. The coffee comes out at about 180 degrees and only takes about 2 minutes to brew. There is next to nothing for clean up, besides the needle being cleaned occasionally. This procedure is demonstrated on the official Keurig website and is very simple to do. The only con to this coffee maker is that you can not use your old K-cups and you have to use ONLY Keurig brand k-cups. The new k-cups have a silver rim that the on-board computer reads to determine the type of coffee, tea, or cocoa and the amount of water needed to brew it correctly. So, if you are trying to find that perfect high school graduation gift for that college bound young adult, this would be well appreciated!
this was a free item for me to try and give my thoughts . I am only 1 person who drinks coffee so based on that its a little to much machine for me I only drink 1 cup a day, that now said I liked the convince of the k cup no mess and easy to load the coffee maker its self seemed to big and boring looking I did how ever love the computer prompt displays on the front telling me water level to low or to high how many ounces of water per cup I wanted and if I wanted it strong so all you have to do is press what you want .this didn't not come with the coffee crafte . pretty basic it does come in different colors and you can ONLY use keurig k cups in it although I never tried any other then the flavor they sent me which was very good tasting might I add. the coffee runs anywhere from 10 50 dollars which I think is a little much . This would be great for anyone that really drinks a lot of coffee its quick convenient and pretty simple to use its fun to use and my grandson loved it we both had a cup of the keurig coffee donut house and that was really great tasting I would recommend for anyone who drinks more then 1 cup a day and has lots of counter space .
Upon receiving my Keurig K200 Brew Station, I found myself a bit intimidated. Never having anything but a plain old coffee maker before. I began with reading the instructions and taking note of all of the cautions. At this point I began prepping my Keurig K200 as directed. I soaked and rinsed the internal filter, then snapped it into the water reservoir as directed. I removed the protective shipping disk from inside the K-pod area. [where the mini coffee pods go]. At that point I filled the reservoir and ran what is called a cleansing to make sure the brewer is void of any dirt or residue. Now at this point I placed [1] one K-cup pod in and made a cup of coffee. Personally it was way too bitter, so I ran hot water through each K-cup [2] two times which to me made a much better tasting cup of coffee, and saved me from wasting the K-cups. I did not find the Keuring to be very practical mainly because of the fact that my husband and I only drink coffee once, maybe twice a day. The instructions express that only Keuring marked K-cups and K-pods will work with this unit. I had to contact the Keurig Company directly to inquire about draining the excess water out of the unit. I was told "There is no way to drain the unit completely", and that I need to leave the unit plugged in and the water preheated. After approximately 60 uses, or 2 months, I need to buy a bottle of descaling solution from Keurig to clean the unit. I will need to use [1] one full bottle of the solution per cleaning. Internal filter replacements will also be needed after approximately 60 uses. I found if you have coffee drinkers around all day or offer coffee perhaps in a business, it is a great product. If you only drink coffee now and again at home this may not be the product for you, it is not very practical. Additional pricing and replacement costs can be found at Keurig.com
I received the Keurig K 2.0 K200 brewing system to test and review. I was excited for this because I have been wanting to try the new Keurig machines, but as I own an earlier model, I couldn't justify spending $100 + on the newer model. I really like the new more modern design of the Keurig K 2.0 K200, it takes up much less space than a standard coffee maker, and it does indeed brew a really very good cup every time. However, my wife and I are coffee snobs, we prefer to grind our coffee beans fresh, and assemble our own generic K Cups. It is here that the Keurig K 2.0 K200 falls short in my opinion. Keurig has added a laser reader to the Keurig K 2.0 K200 and it will only brew coffee from K Cups with the approved Keurig bar code. For this reason alone, I cannot recommend the Keurig K 2.0 K200 as a wise purchase. The coffee maker it's self is great. But I am not one to be told that I have to buy a specific brand of K Cup or it will not work. This is after all coffee, not computer software. In the end, I will be going back to my old non proprietary Keurig, and when it dies, I will move on to a competitive brand that doesn't force me to use their approved product.
