I've been using the 50 pt model in our below grade basement since August of 2024. I don't need to run it from about mid November through the end of February. It was the first dehumidifier I decided not to review right away. I purchased too many over the years that I left 5 star reviews for shortly after receiving them, then they'd stop dehumidifying. It's now June 23, 2025, and the Keystone is still working perfectly, even better than the more well known brands. It's not too loud either. Fingers crossed I haven't jinxed myself by leaving this review.
Once you get the little knack of sliding the water collection bin in and out easily, this is an outstanding workhorse. It's in our 20'x 15' living room (in a 1000 sq. ft. city apartment) located near a large major river that we get plenty of humidity from. It's unbearable here without a dehumidifier in the summer. I've had plenty of dehumidifiers in the past, and this one's the best, at a reasonable price. Love ya, Walmart.
It just works well and as expected. We used this to replace a Aeocky brand that is rated one of the best online but didnt last 5 months. Keystone has always been a reliable brand for us. We use it in a large open basement keeps humidity at 45% as we have it set. The noise level is ok for a basement setting. We had 2 smaller units in the past for humidity in our living room and bedroom. They both went in the basement till we got our new keystone and then we donated them because they got dirty. But they still kept working.
EXCELLENT! FANTASTIC! MARVELOUS! FINALLY, our basement mancave doesn't smell musty after 5 years of trying EVERYTHING! (including another higher dollar dehumidifier) So happy this one works as advertised!
I bought it for my musty 1600 sf basement which had started to grow mold on the fieldstone foundation walls. My husband used borax %26 kilzs to mitigate the mold %26 we bought this to prevent it from coming back. It's not very loud and it pulls water out very quickly. The air is much lighter %26 all the bad odors are gone! I hope it lasts a long time but I would definitely buy another one when this one wears out.
Love this dehumidifier. Can easily drop the humidity in our beach house down to 40% or lower. Nice size reservoir, at least twice the size of my previous unit.
So far it is working. The last dehumidifier I purchased, elsewhere, stopped working after 3 weeks and had to be returned. Hopefully, this Keystone will keep dehumidifying for years, as the other store had a 90-day return policy, whereas Walmart only 30 days. The collection bucket on this Keystone is smaller, and doesn't have flat bottom, so it canNOT be stood on the floor, which is an inconvenience.
You need to get better instructions. Couldn't not figure out why it wouldn't work. Found out the float was not in the right position. Just by trial and error.
Ran like a champ for about 3 months. Then the problems began. Bought two of them. Both are frosting up in the back, in spite of the temperature being in the 60's in the basement and low 70's on the first floor. I have been told this is common if there's a freon leak. One unit will not shut off to defrost in the basement so I have to unplug it every day. I got the maximum extended warranty on both of them. so they will be repaired or replaced. On the positive side, they are cheaper than big brand units that break down just as much. Look at GE or Frigidaire. All the stuff now from cheap components. Buy the extended warranty for peace of mind.
I received it used I found dust inside it and the filter is torn Just disappointed
