I purchased this canned ground beef for my friend Kyle, whose dedication to lifting rivals a project manager’s dedication to a Gantt chart. He didn’t just open the can — he conducted a full stakeholder review of the nutrition label. Macros were analyzed. Protein per dollar was calculated. Risks (sodium) were acknowledged but deemed “within scope.” No seasoning. No garnish. No deviation from objectives. He ate it straight from the can with the calm efficiency of someone closing tickets before EOD. I’ve seen project managers show less commitment to deliverables than Kyle showed to this beef. If you value measurable outcomes, streamlined execution, and protein hitting target metrics, this product will exceed expectations.
Made chili last night and decided to try out the canned hamburger I had on the shelf. It was totally delicious. I didn’t feel like canning my own hamburger at this time. I was skeptical, but now I know I made a good decision. No time wasted doing it myself, just a delicious result. Will buy more!
after seeing it advertised on several different survival food sites, I decided to give it a try to see if it would be worth stocking up on. Today I made tacos with it. I heated it up in a skillet so that I could add the taco seasoning and simmer. It smells like a beef roast cooking but definitely tastes like ground beef. The tacos were excellent. I recommend this. I am planning on trying the other canned meats by Keystone soon
this ground beef was okay i put rice and beans in the can hamburger made home made burritos with salsa and cheese tomatoes, red onions, celntro, they were so delicious i woud buy again i just hope they bring the price down on this ground beef hamburger meat in the can
If you think about it, this will equal approximately 2 pounds of cooked and drained hamburger. I buy this and make spaghetti and then I make chili. I freeze them in separate containers so I can have them whenever I need a dinner. This product is just like cooking your own ground beef.
Great for hurricane season no refrigeration necessary. Heat entire contents of can then drain as per recipe requirement (this allows the flavor aka fat to go back into the meat) great for Tacos, spaghetti, shepherds pie, goulash or any other loose meat dish that calls for hamburger. Note: meat is cooked in the can with only one other ingredient, a small amount of salt (Keystone left it up to you to season to taste). Keystone has a “How is it made video” on YouTube if you want to know more
Perfect substitute for when you’re short on time or exhausted and looking to cut corners. Contains a TON of fat but just scrape out most of the meat, heat it in water and drain the water to get most of it out (you must do this or your hamburger will be basically inedible). Would be excellent for camping or disaster/emergency prep. Only wish they had these in smaller cans, you know?
12 cans various Keystone 28 ounce meats order received 10 dented/crushed cans. Returned them to walmart. They replaced the 10 dented cans with 10 more dented cans. I had to pack them up and shipping them to walmart again. 3 hours of my time on the phone and driving twice to the fedex store. it took 26 days to finally get a refund. walmart shipping and packing is the problem yet they tried on more than one occasion to blame fedex . My account was put under review like i was trying to scam walmart into giving me a refund and allowing me to keep the canned meat. Keystone is a long term shelf stable food than can last over 5 years but only if the cans are not dented at the seams or top and bottom lid near the side. Walmart seems to think a piece of brown kraft paper or a air bag is enough to keep a 1.75 pound can from rolling around in a box, its laughable really.
This item is great but every shipped can has arrived at my home dented with the box in good shape. 8 cans over 3 months. I will be canceling the auto delivery.
I ordered 2 cans of this ground beef hoping to keep some on hand for emergencies. I was very disappointed to receive "flipper cans", cans that the lid can be pushed in and pop back out. This is indication of a loss of vacuum, potentially allowing harmful bacteria like Clostridium botulinum to grow and cause botulism. I contacted the manufacturer who said "Just so you are aware…those ‘clicking’ cans were perfectly fine for consumption. I have attached a letter that describes this." I have included the letter in my review. You can decide for yourself. I requested and received a refund and discarded the swollen cans.
