The wiring was tricky. You had to have the right size wire. I had the gage wire, but it was too thick to fit the connection, so I had to shave some off in order for it fit properly. Very nice looking though.

I bought this extremely reasonably priced kit to replace 20 year old pathway lighting that had been in poor condition due to damage from being hit by snowblowers, landscapers, etc. Zero broke or stopped working on their own. They weathered, but most were still functioning. Sadly Malibu no longer made them. I think if there was an equivalent light it would be $40 each. I needed 11, one spare, thought how bad could they be if also made of metal. I knew the moment I opened the box that these were so cheaply made and flimsy I'd have to replace them all in about 2-3 years. Now that they're all in, they look great on and off, but if I pushed or hammered too hard installing, a light would break anywhere from the plastic stake, cheap metal bar, and I always kept the tops off and safe until they were all working. Each comes with a 36” wire which you'll understand is useless, when 12” is plenty. There is a plastic cap that U must carefully install under each lid, and that tiny screw is held only by a plastic cap that U will seat on top of each light. I couldn't screw one cap on unless I was on my knees holding the cap to make sure it threaded correctly. I cannot express enough that if U installed a light just a little off and wanted to adjust it straight, it will likely snap. The lid is so thin metal it's like a pie tin. Before I assembled the 3rd light inside my home I considered returning them, but a 12 light set of lasting materials would cost at least $500. Now that their installed, I'm probably going to buy another set as I'm sure one by one many will get ‘nudged' and bend/break needing a replacement light. It'll be more labor, but I'll still be saving at least 50% off any better ‘metal' set. Another thing to mention, each light comes with ‘quick connections'. They save zero time over just stripping back wires, connecting and tapeing. They don't have to be ‘waterproof' connections, just weather sealed. The quick connectors are cheap and I wouldn't trust just a little pin pinching a wire very good after just a little bit of corrosion set in. I'm sure the connections would become intermittent very soon. IF only U will do garden work around them, and be very careful when installing, these will serve u fine for several years.

Was initially excited to buy these b/c they seemed like a good deal and good enough quality online. You Definitely get what u pay for and this product is very cheaply constructed to reduce shipping weight. Assembly instructions and parts with random screws not referenced in install guides aren't clear. I've had mostly Malibu branded and other more expensive landscaping lights which meet a base level of quality but these simply aren't good enough and it's pretty clear these will deteriorate rapidly as well as look really cheap..
