these work best on a hard flat surface, not so well on top of grass. I wanted to create a path on top of grass to get to my pool but ended up using them on my pool desk instead because when you stepped on them while in the grass they came apart because grass is not the hard flat surface that works best. Now that I have them on my pool deck they work great.
