Item arrived fairly quickly and as well packaged, but I set it aside for months without unboxing as I got busy with a lot of work travel and stayed with bottled water as opposed to switching to distilling water as intended. Now that the holidays have arrived, my work schedule has slackened a bit so I finally got around to unboxing and trying this out. The various pieces are fairly well protected in dense foam, but quite a few pieces arrived with residue from manufacturing which is not ideal. Some of the residue took a lot of work to clean off so be prepared for this if you're thinking of purchasing. Assembly is fairly straightforward with the main time consuming part being cleaning everything well as that's important given the fact that this is processing drinking water. Once set up, the operation is fairly straightforward and intuitive. Ease of use would be a lot better if there was a built in timer, but there isn't so be sure to buy a separate electronic timer along with this to make sure you don't fully boil off the water. Letting the water fully boil will make ongoing maintenance FAR worse. Main issues with these sorts of water distillers is that the physics of it demands quite a bit of time and electricity. You have to plan your water consumption ahead of time so keep an eye on how much distilled water you have left. The process uses quite a bit of electricity that will noticeably impact your monthly electricity bill. I live in a high electricity cost area and I knew about it before purchasing, but take a look at your own energy costs to make sure you are okay with the extra electricity cost. Overall, I'd suggest that this product is a good fit for a very specific portion of the population which wants to move away from tap water and bottled water, but make sure you weigh the upsides and downsides of water distillers like this against reverse osmosis machines as both have key areas where they excel versus each other.
I bought this because all of my indoor plants were dying. Finally narrowed it down to the tap water. The ones that I were able to save are now thriving. So am I because I am drinking it exclusively. Compared to other systems it is inexpensive. I also bought a 5 gallon storage container so I always have enough. I live alone so this system is enough. If you have a large family you would probably want another alternative.
Works well as replacement for my first one which rusted a tiny hole through the bottom after about 10 years. Reasonable price, handle fits slightly loose but can be retightened occasionally.
For the past 12 years I used one of the expensive brands- "Pure Steam CT Classic" and was able to distill about 3/4 gallon per cycle. After numerous issues with heating elements and controller, I became tired of purchasing distilled water while I waited on the next repair parts for my CT, so I looked for a replacement unit and decided to try the Vevor Stainless Steel Water Distiller with glass carafe from Walmart. I initially thought this would be a backup for my CT while I waited for the repair parts to ship. After the first distillation with the Vevor, I was impressed. Instead of getting only 3/4 gallons, the Vevor distills the entire gallon in the same time. I have distilled about 50 gallons of water so far. It is super easy to clean and has given me zero problems. Great distiller for the price. I am going to purchase a second unit while they are still available.
The Distiller works with no problems and comes with everything you need. The only problem I had with purchasing the Distillery was walmart didn't offer an extended warranty purchase for this item.
This water distiller is exactly what I needed to make crystal clear water on a daily basis. It is very easy to use and now I know that I have clean contamination free water every day.
well made product. weird short cord that top and plugs into bottom. works well and is much bigger in size than expected.
the pitcher was very easy to assemble
Works great. Highly recommend.
Works as expected. I was skeptical about the purchase since there wasn't many reviews but I haven't had any problems with this. I use it for drinking water, cooking, and for my cpap machine.
