Lovely little warm retreat for Mr. Shadow, my GrandKitty! He loves it. My son in law placed it in his study.
Our cat ignored this bed for about 2 months, but then he began to use it. In Northern California where we live, the temperature at night can be pretty cold, so it provides a warm place for him to sleep, and sometimes he also takes a nap in it during the day. Yes, we would recommend it to a friend.
I actually bought this for an outdoor kitty and use it on a chair on a fairly protected porch. said cat thinks it is a HUGE upgrade from the blanket I had on a different heater. I bought the large and it is barely big enough for him with an extra fleece inside for him. The pad on the bottom that has the heat pad in it is not padded enough in my opinion. the heater in this one is only 4W, the other heated pad I have is 6W, but it seems warm enough. The rounded hood doesn't stay up as well as in the pictures, its a little flatter, but it still provides some extra protection from the wind.
All my little cat wants in the world is to be warm. This bed frees up myself and my other cat for doing other things, like not being a heat source for a tiny cold cat. She was a little gun shy about the hood so I left it off at first. Now she's warm and feels nice and secure with the hood on. So now my other cat is getting one because she's awesome and deserves it more. :D
My cat loves his heated kitty bed !!!! The only bad thing about it is that he won't sleep in anything but his heated kitty bed, so we have four for the house and two more for our R.V.. They last forever and are easy to take apart wash, dry, and put the heating pad back in. They are a great buy !!!!
I purchased this for my cat who likes to sleep on the screened-in porch. Lilly LOVES it! So much so that she rarely comes in the house anymore. I especially like the hood part because sometimes it gets pretty breezy and the hood protects her from direct blasts of wind. I've already washed it once and it was easy to do. This is a terrific product.
Kitty loves his bed. The only problem is getting the hood on and off. Snaps might work better than the zipper which has a tendency to jam. Please consider making this change. Otherwise the bed is great!
It dosent heat well sadly I will be returning it. It was not worth the money I spent on it I will it did.
I bought this cat bed in 2019 and was very happy with it until I just noticed that the power cord is frayed and damaged, exposing the wire. It does not appear to have been chewed--rather just general wear and tear, which I would not expect from a product kept in the same place the entire time (ie, only moved to vacuum around it). I would post a pic but don't see how to do this here.
This type of bed is difficult for older cats suffering from arthritis to step into. K&H previously offered a "Thermo Hooded Lounger" with a lower opening in the front which is much more accommodating for older pets. My geriatric cat prefers a covered (hooded) bed and in his old age I like to offer him a heated option. Unfortunately the design of this bed is just not well thought-out for a pet suffering from arthritis.
