This alarm has to be the most user-friendly alarm I've ever had! Instead of one button for testing and hushing, there are two separate buttons to avoid confusion! That makes this detector a very user-friendly, one of that. Thank you, Kidde for making such a good product.
Great Quality, Loud alarm, would even wake my teens. Very sensitive to smoke. Easy to add batteries and install.
simple, safe reliable easy installation and L O U D !!
just got today, they are loud and that's what you want with an alarm, easy to hang.
Nice for the amount they cost and came quickly !
I have used Kidde smoke alarms and fire exstinguishers all my life. They are reliable and well known brand name. This smoke alarm does work and is great for detecting smoke.
You can get dual sensor inceetonnectrd detectors. Many areas require all detectors to be inceetonnectrd. All dual sensor means is it detects smoke in two ways. I get smoke/carbon monoxide inceetonnectrd detectors. I have never had a dual sensor smoke detector, but the single sensor are too sensitive for me. Cooking sets them off allot, due to small size of tenant's apartment.
Our wired Kidde smoke alarms went off this AM for no apparent reason, and replacing the (tested good) batteries didn't help get rid of the annoying ping once a minute. So I googled a bit, and found that after ten years they need to be replaced (great license to print money, congratulations!) - sure enough our house was built 9 years ago, and the units were about ten years old - I guess there's a chip making sure you end up buying new ones. So I got these and was looking forward to replacing the wired ones in order to get rid of the recurring battery hassle for ten years - and even though I got them specifically to make sure I stay with the same brand, these don't fit into the mounts of the wired ones!! The wired ones had (and still have) multiple holes that are designed to fit standard electrical boxes. The mounts that come with ones require to drill at least one hole just outside the electric box - an absolutely bizarre, unnecessary design change for the worse. So I returned those and got exact replacements of the same annoying smoke detectors that have woken us up in the middle of the night at least 5-6 times since we got our house. In this day and age of advanced electronics and sensors such product design flaws are unacceptable.
Product is junk! waste of money. Only buy this if you want a nuissance alarm! 5 year Warranty is scam marketing
While their other products work great and I suggest you purchase them, these are horrible selections and are unbearable for practices use. This malfunctions and goes off in my home at least twice a month. And we can't seem to find ones that work. When it dies function, it is usefull and has stopped my son from burning down the house with a lightbulb, it's con's far outweigh the pros when you deal with unbearable loud screeching at 11 pm waking up your children and wife. And even after we remove them from the walls and take out the batteries THEY STILL MAKE NOISE. And I could not even be the product but my poor installation or something. But until I know for certain I'm gonna have to not recommend this
