Kidde 2-A:10-B:C Rated Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher, ABC

The Kidde FX210 Commercial Fire Extinguisher weighs almost 7 pounds and is the 2 A:10-B:C dry chemical model. There are three illustrations on the extinguisher that effectively explain what A-B-C stands for: “A” means this product will put out trash/wood/paper fires. “B” means it will work on liquid fires and “C” means it will work on electrical equipment fires. This is a general all-around practical choice of an extinguisher for the average household. Four excellent illustrations depicting the 4 steps needed to operate the extinguisher are clearly visible in English, accompanied by translation in Spanish: Pull the pin and hold upright, Aim at base of fire, Squeeze and hold lever, and Sweep side to side. This extinguisher is to be discarded when the indicator arrow next to the pin is out of the green coded “Full” area OR after any use. Although the instructions on the extinguisher are all that is needed for effective operation, there is also a section that states: “Read Owner’s Manual and this label thoroughly. The owner’s manual states that the fire extinguisher can be recharged and yet the directions on the fire extinguisher say that it can’t be recharged. The manufacturer needs to clear up this discrepancy for the consumer. The directions on the extinguisher state not to test the product, as any discharge will cause pressure loss. Hence, a complete review on the effectiveness of this product is not possible.

This review is for the Kidde 2-A:10-B:C Rated Fire Extinguisher. We have lived in our home for 6 years and never owned a fire extinguisher. I kept telling my husband we are literally playing with fire by not hav6one so I was excited to finally get this one. Now thankfully we have not needed to use it yet but it seems self explanatory and easy to use. This fire extinguisher is a 2-A:10-B:C rating. I didn't have a clue what that meant until I looked it up. This one is good for wood and paper fires as well as gas or electrical fires which is perfect for home use. The gauge near the handle tells you how much is left in the tank which I like because you wouldn't want to be empty when you need a fire extinguisher. Once it is empty you need to replace your fore extinguisher. I've heard good things about this brand and the quality seems good. I hope I never need to use it but having it on hand now makes me feel a while lot safer than not having one at all. It is not huge either or heavy which makes it easier to lift and use when needed. No complaints here.

This si a very nice, large fire extinguisher. It is rated twice as effective on common combustible fires than traditional 1-A rated units. A nice heavy duty hanger is included to mount to the wall. For use on fires involving: wood, paper & fabrics, flammable liquids, electrical equipment. It is a single use, disposable make. It has a 6 year warranty. It is UL rated 2- A: 10-B: C. This is a very nice, heavy fire extinguisher, it means business. I give it 5 stars.

The Kidde 2-A:10-B:C Rated Fire Extinguisher Could not have come at a better time. About a week ago I was grilling on my barbecue and out of nowhere it caught on fire. I ran in the house and grabbed my extinguisher and was able to put it out in no time. I simply Pulled the pin out from the top grabbed the hose and started spraying. The flames went out almost immediately. Once the fire was put out I was able to clean the white foam from the barbecue easily. This extinguisher saved my barbecue and my home. And I would be lost without it. I would highly recommend this to everyone. You never know when a fighter can start.

I like this fire extinguisher as it has a little hose to help aim at the fire and help put it out a lot easier than the previous fire extinguishers I have had. This fire extinguisher is larger than the ones I have had previous. I do like how this fire extinguisher does have a wall mount on it. Although I have not tried this fire extinguisher and hope that I do not have to, I did check to make sure that the gauge is in the correct position. I do plan to put this fire extinguisher in the area between my kitchen and family room, as I have always put our other ones in the laundry room. It is very important for me to have the fire extinguisher in the area of the house where my family spends most of their time.

I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was sent a free Kidde Primary Use Home Fire Extinguisher to review. I am a firm believer that every floor in my house should have not only a smoke detector but a fire extinguisher. Things happen so quickly, and many times if you have a good fire extinguisher you can take care of things before they get out of control. The Kidde Model FX210 is a 2-A:10-BC UL rated fire extinguisher. What that means is it is equal to 2 ½ gallons of water per 10 feet. It is rated for wood, paper, fabrics, flammable liquids and electrical equipment. The Kidde extinguisher is a disposable extinguisher with a 12-year life so if I don’t have to use it, I will not have to replace it for 12 years. It comes with a 6-year warranty. It is a heavy-duty extinguisher weighing in at about 7 ½ pounds. It is almost 17 inches high by 4 ½” wide. It has a heavy-duty metal handle and metal bracket to install it on my wall. With its size and weight, I needed to find a stud in my wall to affix the bracket to. I also used a solid block between the bracket and my wall to put it up. (See my photo) The pressure gauge is very easy to read with the needle in the green area shows me it’s full then it has 3 other easy to read areas (replace, discard, empty). The pull pin is very sturdy and has a large enough opening for even the largest of fingers. There is a nice sheet of instructions that of course I looked over that includes cleaning and maintenance instructions. On the extinguisher itself are clear and easy to read instructions with even a tag on the pull pin that tells me to pull it to release the handle to use. When things happen, we as people usually panic. Kidde has taken that into consideration with the instructions and pictures on the extinguisher that are clear and larger to see that even show me how to use the extinguisher. Most fires start small and I know that I am now better prepared by having this in my home. This is perfect for every floor of any home, office, basement, work room, or garage.

This fire extinguisher makes our home feel safe. We like to keep two in our home, because you never know when you will need to use it. We have one in our kitchen and one right by my boys’ bedroom. It’s nice to know we are protected in case of a fire. Fire safety is something that is taught at a very young age at school now days, so my two young children have learned about it and know exactly what the extinguisher is and know how to use it, if needed. We seriously hope this occasion never occurs, but if so, we know what to do and when to use it. It’s not very pricey, so you can have multiple in your home and not break the bank. It’s not very heavy, and I do believe it would be easy to grab it during an emergency and put out a fire. I would recommend this fire extinguisher, fire safety is very important and especially if you have children in your home, this would be a great asset to your home. I am quite satisfied with this product and I trust the brand to keep us safe when and if the time comes.

We purchased this one to replace the one we used to put out the fire in our fireplace. The damper was malfunctioning and dumping smoke into the house. The fire extinguisher worked well even though it was 6 years old. I reccomend it highly.

Adding fire extinguishers to my home has been something I've been meaning to do for a very long time. I've always heard I'm just how important they can be in fire emergencies. When I was given the opportunity to receive this fire extinguisher I automatically assumed that the best place for it would be the kitchen. My family and I do a good amount of cooking.. we have had several near misses that could have easily erupted into a fire emergency. Although each time we managed to rectify the situation reminded me of the importance of having extinguishers throughout the home. When the extinguisher arrived I was surprised to learn that this particular extinguisher is not recommended for the kitchen. I was always under the assumption all fire extinguishers were the same. I knew that I wanted to add additional fire extinguishers throughout my home. I decided to go to the kidde website to learn more. I learned about the different types of extinguishers and where they would best be used. I know the name kidde has been a leader in home Safety products for a long time. I value information that I found on their website. While I was researching the different types of extinguishers I found it some consumers did not like the fact that these extinguishers are only for one time use. I would rather have a long time use fire extinguisher in an emergency than no fire extinguisher at all. Those that are for one time use clearly indicate that. I have my Kidde 2 - A:10-B:C in my living room as recommended. I am hoping that we will not have to use it. My family and I are reassured that if a tragic situation should arise we have our kidde with us.
