We had these smoke alarms before. Since they were starting to "chirp" some of the time, we needed to buy them again. The store didn't have them in stock, but they were online. They arrived sooner than Walmart said. They are an excellent alarm for a marvelous price. The staff at the store, in the online pickup, are very professional and friendly. This product has a 10 yr. warranty, so you don't have to purchase them very often.
These tamper free long life smoke detectors are required by law where I live. We needed nine of them for our house. I saved a lot of money buying them at WalMart. They had the best price by far.
Fortunately I can't review how these work in a fire, but they are relatively inexpensive and easy to install. Two of these replaced two older models from a different manufacturer, but the mounting screws already in the wall from the older units fit these mounting rings perfectly, so it was just a matter of loosening two screws removing the old units and replacing them with these. Both new alarms tested fine and the red LEDs began to flash. No problems at all.
The local fire dept installed my smoke detectors so I am sure they were installed correctly. Within two years, two of them beeped with no cause and few months apart. They wouldn't stop beeping even with multiple times pressing on the button. I pulled it off the ceiling and kept pressing the button. When the beeping didn't stop I took it outside and smashed it with a hammer. That helped to disperse my frustration!
This is a piece of crap. took them out of the box activated them and they both started to chirp low battery I would give it no stars but I can't. do not buy. if this is how everything is stay clear away from the company
Bought a house that came with these detectors in them. They are only 3 yrs old and have failed. I vacuumed them out, air blasted them, changes the battery and still chirping. This is not a good product. So now I have to replace all 7 of them because I don't trust the ones I have. Which means I going to have to replace the housing and rewire the set up.
Purchased 3 of these units in AUG. 2023 and the one in our bedroom started sounding an alarm at 9:30am and the Hush button does not work. Other 2 detectors remained quiet. searched all rooms in house and no problems. Took detector to our dinning room and set it on our table it was off and tested OK. About half an hour latter it went off again. It did this several times again and then I broke the tab and disconnected the battery.
This lithium non replaceable battery smoke alarm is trash! I will never buy Kidde again. A 10 year warranty and it didn't last 2 years! I was going to call customer service but after reading all the other reviews I'll just buy a new alarm from another brand. No "Kidde" ing here!
Fire alarm constantly goes off. We've done everything, changed batteries, cleaned with air, turned a fan on, nothing is cooking, no candles but it still goes off randomly and often.
Constant false alarms. Garbage products. No reason for the alarms to go off, and they only go off in the middle of the night for some reason. Makes no sense.
