I (luckily) haven't needed to see these in action yet, but the fact that they are interconnected gives me the peace of mind that I will hear the one by my bedroom even if a fire breaks out at the other end of my house. They are a bit more expensive than some of the other brands, but they only need replaced every decade, and my family's safety is worth the extra money to be using a reliable brand.
Arrived quickly and works as expected
Great product - all alarms can be set so that when one sounds, they all sound
Installation was easy looks good
Works as it says in the instructions. Mounts easily.
I love the alarms, and they set up easy. But I am getting rid of my Wink system that they are linked to, and I need a new way to manage and monitor the 3 interconnected units. What are my options?
I bought four of these about three years ago and love them. Unfortunately, one of them is now going though batteries every 6-8 weeks. Is there a way to correct this, or does it need to be replaced? I am certain that the new batteries are fully charged each time I've replaced them.
Overall, I like these alarms because they do provide interconnected wireless, battery powered protection for my old house. In 5 years, only one phantom trigger. My issues are: You can't tell which alarm triggered, so if you have a troubled detector, you have no idea which one it it. The low battery indication is horrible. It starts with one random beep every hour or so. So annoying if it is an alarm on the other side of the house. You have to wait a few days for the battery to get low enough that it beeps every 90 seconds and you can actually figure out which one it is. There is no visual indication that it has low battery unless you happen to look at it when it beeps.
We purchased a six pack of these 3 years ago and had no problems until recently. We now have one unit that is causing false alarms which makes the other five units go into alarm. This is a smoke free house and all units are located in large open areas away from the kitchen . Unable to find a replacement but hoping Kidde will warranty since they do have a 10 year warranty.
We are an electrical contractor out of St. Louis Mo and have stopped using the Kidde RF Smoke detectors. We have had nothing but issues with them going off for no reason. I really hope you guys get this corrected.
