Arrived quickly. Replaced my older models. Even though they still use a 3 pin connector, the new model would not plug in due to a design change. You need an adapter or to change to the plug included.
It was well packaged and was easy to install into my existing ceiling bracket which already had a Kidde quick connector (double check your prior brand for compatibility). Overall seems to be good quality and effective as my house has not burned down.
Sleep great knowing that my family is in good hands with this top of the line smoke detector. Voice alert is reassurance!
Easy replacement option…. Sad my original ones died after 2 years!! Hopefully these new ones are better
We bought 5 five pack unit after a remodel last year. I have had two units fail in the last 18 months! When the units fail, the green light goes out and it emits 3 beeps (usually at 2am) every 10 minutes. Replacing batteries only stops the beeping for a month. I have also changed the location of the failing unit (to exclude environmental issues in that particular room) and the problem follows the unit. If the Kidde Fire extinguishers have a 40% failure rate also, I fear that a small fire may result in the loss of my house as I scramble to find a working extinguisher. I losing confidence that Kidde can keep my family safe.
Replaced expired Kidde alarm. This one fit seamlessly. Did need a separely purchased connector adapter to avoid wiring again. Works as indicated. Paired with other Kidde connected alarms effortlessly.
it does fit in same rack as i have. i am a senior who needes 6 replacements. only 10 years and nothing matches the same rack!!
Have to take alarm down to change batteries. Last one I had could change them while in place. Could not tell the difference between the two in the product descriptions.
we needed to buy an adapter because it did not fit they should have stated that in the listing or included one with the item
These were installed as new construction about a year ago. They started faulting a few months ago. So, got maybe 7 months out of the promised 10 years. Did ALL the troubleshooting stops perched on a ladder, changed batteries again and again. They'd work a few days and then start up again. Gave up and took them down because it's SAFER to be without than have them keep going off in the bedrooms and halls of my 86-year old parents. My mom tries to climb up and stop them when they go off in the middle on the night.
