Kidde Pro 5 CO2 Fire Extinguisher 466180, 5lb, 5-B:C

This Kidde fire extinguisher is excellent. This is everything I wanted for my house. It is just the right size and it puts out any electrical fire or liquid grease fires in your oven.  It comes with a cone nozzle you can lift up and sweep left to right to put out any flames.  An advantages of a CO2 fire extinguisher is they don't make a mess like dry powder or liquid extinguishers do.  This is refillable, not a use once and throwaway item.  It also comes with a hanger so you can hang it any place in your home for convenience.  It weighs about 15 lbs and height is 17 inches and diameter is 5 1/4 inches. 

This fire extinguisher is suitable for use on liquids and electrical fires . The information with this item says the Pro 5 carbon dioxide unit is environmentally safe and ideal for protecting delicate electronic equipment as the clean agent leaves no residue. I have not had to use it, to find out (Thank Goodness) But, feel good to know this information. The cylinder is made from aluminum and the valve assembly is metal. I like that it has a Powder coated cylinder so it will not corrode. I appreciate the Crystal-clear, step-by-step instructions on the label, as I have never had to use one to this date. Easy-to-read, But, I feel secure in knowing what I need to do after reading the information. The pressure gauge is easy to read to check to make sure it will operate correctly. I like the Lock-safe release pin that will keep from accidental discharge. The easy-pull release pin appears to be easy enough to pull in the event of emergency. I like that it says the Dry MP agent is safe for use around food and electronics. I like that it's Rechargeable. Come with a 5 year limited warranty & Came with a wall hanger I used to hang in our kitchen.

I decided this item is something no home should be without! I live in a rural area, and our fire department is made up of volunteers. If our home catches fire it will take time for help to arrive. When I think about how much my family and home mean to me, it only makes sense to have a fire extinguisher handy in case of emergencies. Kidde is a well-known name that has been around for quite some time. When I choose an item such as this I want a product with a well-known name. The instruction manual is simple, yet thorough. It explains how to use it, inspect and care for it, and install it in your home. We installed ours at the top of the stairs leading to our lower level, right off the kitchen, where many home fires can occur. I can't give a review based on usage (thank goodness); however, if you are shopping for a home fire extinguisher I can recommend this one based on reputation, ease of installation, and use/understanding of the instruction manual.

Nice well-built fire extinguisher. Very heavy duty. Easy to follow instructions and big enough for most any containable household fire anyone would encounter. It is heavy, and you need one hand for holding and squeezing, and another hand for holding and pointing the nozzle, so take that into consideration for older people. Good product and I'd recommend. Better safe than sorry.

This item is large and heavy. The instructions are printed right on the body for ease of reference. It comes with a bracket for wall mounting that I haven't been able to install yet so I store it next to the door leading to the garage for easy access. I haven't had a need to use it and I hope I never do but it's good to have for peace of mind.

This is a difficult item to comment on because unless I have a fire I cannot use. I choose KIDDE brand over others because of past experiences and the brand name reliability. Having past experiences with another brand that was unsatisfactory. I wanted better piece of mind. I know Kidde brand is used in hotels and restaurants so I hope I don't have to use but feel secure in my decision. I will consult a professional to inspect yearly. Mounted and stored easily yet accessible.

Great price and selection at WalMart. Honestly, can not review product yet - we, thankfully, have not a fire yet - but feel confident with a name like Kidde that it will perform as stated. We chose this one because it is a CO2 chemical-free extinguisher - which is VERY important to us - especially since we keep it outside kitchen. Hopefully we never need to use it - but it's great to know it is there -and non-toxic if we do need to use it.

Amazing product, very solidly built, much easier to activate, hopefully reliable as did all other fire extinguishers I have purchased but luckily did not have to use. A very comforting sight in the kitchen as stand by. Will highly recommend to anyone looking for safety and reliable fire control unit in the house.

I do a lot of work on cars, motorcycles, and farm equipment in my shop building. I deal with flammable liquids, electrical systems, and tools that produce heat and flame. I wanted to get a quality fire extinguisher that could handle a range of combustible materials, that would be there when I needed it, and that would not make a mess or further damage my property. This Kidde CO2 fire extinguisher is exactly what I was looking for. The CO2 gas will starve the flames of oxygen, but will not leave behind and liquid or powder residue. The unit is very well made; you can feel that the build quality is solid. I have no doubt that when needed, it will work as expected and will not easily break or be damaged if I accidentally bang it or drop it in a panic. The cannister, valve, valve handle, and nozzle swivel/feed tube are all metal. The discharge nozzle is heavy-duty plastic. Inside the box I found a mounting bracket, easy to install with one lag screw. I'm very satisfied and feel much safer and more able to respond quickly to a fire emergency in the shop.

The fires extinguisher is big and heavy! It's CO2 so it's more for electrical fires than any other kind of fire! It will take a man to handle this extinguisher, it's that heavy and bulky to handle! I could barely get it out of the box! Fortunately, I haven't had a cause to use it! It does come with a metal (steel) mounting bracket, but no screws/bolts, to hang it! The nozzle is fixed and not flexible! You can move the nozzle, but it appears difficult to correctly point while holding the trigger to spray!I All steel/metal construction, except for the black plastic nozzle at the end of the metal spray tube! Still it's a good product to have in case of emergency!
