I received these when my children were 2 and 4 years old. They have now had them for over a year and they still to this day play with them. These pretend food items are rather sturdy but unfortunately, our kids being toddlers, decided to chew on a few of the pieces, so a few of them do have teeth marks on them. I love the fact that this product has a TON of food to choose from. This product not only teaches our kids the variety of foods but also things like colors, shapes and what foods go good well with other foods, etc. My kids use this product all the time to play on their pretend stove and they even have a set of pretend pots, pans, plates, etc. to cook this food on. The product comes with a huge variety of foods which include, spaghetti & meatballs, hot dogs, pizza, broccoli, ice cream, hamburgers with all the helpings, etc. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has kids, especially children that love to play pretend like our kids do. You get a LOT of items with this product for the amount the item cost. We've had this product for over a year and have yet to have any problems out of it.
The kid kraft deluxe tasty treats pretend food set is just that deluxe! There are more pieces in this set than imaginable, more than eenough for my three kids to play with and not fight about it (which is great for me). I also like that the pieces that should be made of cardboard (like the milk or cereal boxes) are actually made of hard plastic covered by a label of what the item is. We've had others tgat were made of cardboard that just fell apart in a matter of hours, I won't have to worry about that with this.
I just recently bought a kitchen from walmart.com for my son's birthday. I have two boys ages 6 and 3. They were ecstatic when the KidKraft Tasty Treats Play Food Set came. They literally played for hours. My children made pretend meals and brought them to me to try. They played restaurant, bakery, and shared very well. The play food set comes with 115 pieces. There is a variety of food from every food group. Not only did they have fun pretending to make food, they also enjoyed identifying and naming all the food. I was surprised by the chicken, pizza, drinks, ketchup, mustard, salt and pepper shakers, chips, and overall quantity that it comes with. Also, you build your own hamburger, hotdogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, ice cream cones, and fries.I'm so glad I got this play food set because my children absolutely love it. It is made of good quality plastic and it is well worth the price. My children play with this set everyday. They stir, cook, chop, mix, and bake. My children love pretending to be little chefs. I highly recommend this set to everyone regardless of whether you have a play kitchen or not because it is an excellent learning tool. You can learn by identifying, sorting, and even counting groups of food. I love watching my children play so happily. I also enjoy interacting with then and teaching them the proper ways to prepare food. I'm so glad my children have the opportunity to be little chefs.
I have a 4 year old daughter and she absolutely loved this! There are tons of different food items in this 115 pc. set. Her dad, brother and myself were 'served' many different meals last night. She will be getting a kitchen set for Christmas and this will go perfect with it. Kidkraft has some really great items for kids and this set did not disappoint. I feel that this will provide entertainment for my daughter for quite some time. She loves to be in the kitchen with mom and this will give her plenty do in her own kitchen once she gets it. The only potential flaw I see is that the plastic is a little thin but that is to be expected. If she puts it away when she gets through playing every time I can see this set lasting for years to come. Her older brother even got in on the fun with her! If you are looking for a play food set this is a great option, I don't think you would be disappointed.
I just recived this today. My kids love it they have everything regarding food in this pack, from pizza to sandwich broccoli to ice cream. There is nOt a single sharp edge on 115 toys. I have a 4 yb and a 1 ybg they both spend hours on shopping cooking eating food items. It was fun seeing them. They are big enough and safe for kids. And with this set j can teach them names of items colors and healthy choices can taught with this set too. It's a pretend plus I would say. Because there is a lot you can do with this particular set. I am glad to get one. Thanks Walmart
he Kidkraft Tasty Treats Play Food Set, 115 Pieces, is a set designed for hours/days/weeks/months of fun. The set is designed for interaction as well as realistic fun. My nieces love this set; their ages are 6 and 8 years old. They enjoy playing make believe and creating stories/themes. The hot dog that fits in the bun, the ice cream you place on the cone, were fun for the girls to "make" themselves. From pretending to make dinner, serve the food, and "eat" the food, the girls where entertained for hours. Playing "store" is another favorite of theirs. From lining up the food (as if it was on the shelves in the store), picking it up and placing it in their shopping bag (not included) and paying for it (pretend money), the fun never ends. It is nice to see their imaginations soar. It is so refreshing to witness hours of fun without any batteries, silly sounds, or buttons. Keep making products that allow children use their imagination.
Way too many toys to be unleashed at once! Lol I mean its 115 toys. You have to expect there to be LOTS of toys right? I couldn't even imagine my children having all these toys open at the same time. Fortunately, these toys are packaged in four small individual bags. I opted to only open one once we received the set, and I will open the others in the future. This set definitely includes everything a child would need for any type of pretend play. Whether that be pretending to open a restaurant or running a grocery store, this set has a piece to fit into every child's wildest imagination. I love the fact that these toys are hard plastic instead of soft plastic like some pretend food I've seen. This helps keep kids from chewing on the pieces and potentially biting a piece of plastic out of them. Excellent safety feature! The pieces are also very well made, and the colors are so bright and vibrant. Everything is so inviting that my daughter could hardly contain herself once the box was opened. I have had great experiences with this brand of product, and this set doesn't disappoint me at all. We will be buying this brand in the future.
The food looks real and it's durable; both plusses for me. This play food surprised and impressed me. Play food tends to either be thin plastic where if you step on it, it completely smashes or cracks and then you have to throw it away, or super hard and fake-looking. This play food is a cross between both extremes and it works well. One of the bananas got stepped on. It dented inwards but didn't crack and it's still in our food basket (meaning we didn't have to throw it away. It's still playable and looks good). I have kids' plastic plates that I got from a dollar discount store and the play food fits nicely on them. The food's size is perfect for a preschooler's hands and there's a nice assortment of foods and items (like canned goods and condiment dispensers). It's a great pretend play food set that looks like real food and seems like it will last. Durability is big for me with toys because I don't have the money to quickly replace toys if they break or get damaged. I need the item to be worth every penny I spend because I have four children under the age of four and I need for them to each be able to play with these items as much as possible before it can't be used anymore. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because, while I adore everything else about the kit, it comes with what's supposed to be 'boxed goods' like baking mixes and such. They have a plastic rectangle inside of the box to make it more sturdy, but I found the boxes to be a little too small for pretend play. After my kids opened the boxes trying to cook and bake and had a hard time closing the boxes back up, I just took the rectangles out and used them for color and shape recognition games. Each of the rectangular pieces were different colors so it did serve more than one purpose. Overall, this is a better-than-average play food set. I don't think you'd regret it if you decide to buy.
There are over 100 pieces and a pretty good variety of stuff, but the quality is a little low. Some are hard and some are spongy, but they are all made of very thin plastic. They do look good with vibrant colors, but don't seem like they would last more than about 2 years and maybe less if kids are rough with them. Overall these are fun to play with, but the kids have to be relatively gentle with them. I would say buy if you can find them for a reasonable price.
product arrived damaged and I have to pay for return shipping plus 15% restocking fee
