KidKraft Pink Retro Wooden Play Kitchen and Refrigerator 2-Piece Set

I've been coveting the Pottery Barn Pink Retro Kitchen for about two years now and just could not bring myself to pay nearly $800.00 for a toy kitchen set for my two year old daughter. That price point alone made my fiance's heart palpitate and palms sweat. It was during this holiday season (2012) that I decided enough was enough and I was either going to get it or not. Oh, how I wanted that kitchen. I was searching on the internet for a similar kitchen set and there it was, right in front of me, at Walmart.com...the KidKraft Pink Retro Play Kitchen and Refrigerator. I got excited, my bank account smiled (and sang a little jingle) and without thinking I clicked purchase. No buyers remorse, no regrets and the kitchen looks absolutely STUNNING in our daughters bedroom. Our daughter LOVES this kitchen. She walks around with a pencil and pad asking us what we would like to eat and then proceeds to make us grilled chicken, green beans, etc. The craftsmanship on this kitchen is outstanding. The rounded corners of the wood, plastic handles and knobs, subtle detailing and soft pink color make this kitchen a stellar addition to any child's room. The kitchen has interactive features like an adjustable shelf in the oven, knobs that turn, doors that open and close (with a click) and a removable sink for real water action...not that that is happening anytime soon. I'm so happy with this purchase and believe it will be in the family for years to come.

I ordered this kitchen for my 16 month old baby girl. She loves it and so does my 2 year old son and 3 year old niece. I am still improving on the kitchen. Removed the oven wood rack and installing on the right side of the stove with some shelve braces, this adds counter top space that is needed, specially if you order any of the appliances, you will need a place to put them. For the inside of the oven I will put in one of those wire rack sink protectors. they are the perfect size for it and it will look like the real thing. I ordered a small press on light and installed inside the oven so that it is like mommys oven :). Also painted a piece of wood with chalkboard paint and attached it to one side of the fridge, perfect for notes and lists. Installed a pull drawer handle upside down right under the chalkboard to hold chalk pieces. Still need to install a shelve under the sink as hat space is pretty tall and one shelf would add a bit more storage space. There are some reviews out there about the kitchen being short... well when my daughter hits 4-5 years old I can always add on some short legs to the bottom of the stove sink piece and add a few more inches. This kitchen is sturdy and it will last years.

My kitchen is still in the box. I am saving it for my granddaughter. I hope all the pieces are in the box.🙏🏻. Let's hope nothing is missing.

This is an awesome kitchen! My 2 year old loves it! It took a little time to put together but it looks awesome! Kid kraft stuff rocks!

This kitchen and refrigerator play set were easy to put together and my little granddaughter loves to play with it! All of the parts went together as advertised, and there was only one hole that wouldn't line up on a hinge and needed to be drilled out slightly. The price was right on this item as well, and I feel as though I got great value for my money.

My daughter Loves this set. It is adorable and is very comparable to the Pottery Barn Kids Kitchen set, but for way less. Walmart shipped this product to my home by the next day...just a few days before Christmas so could have it in time. I was very impressed at how fast they shipped it to me. This set was very easy for my husband to put together. The doors are a little hard for my two year old to open on her own but is not a problem since she will grow into this set.

I really love this little kitchen and so does my two year old! Lots of storage space for all her play food. My husband and I put it together and it really wasn't that bad! I thought about painting it but the pink isn't that bad, it's more of a pale pink color.

I love the look and quality of this kitchen set. It really is beautiful. KidKraft has EXCELLENT customer service. My set was missing the back of the stove knob plastic pieces and they mailed them out to me instantly. The only negative thing is the paint smell. I was very shocked at how strong the odor was. I read many reviews before I bought it and no one mentioned the smell. It smelled VERY STRONG, like paint fumes. My daughter has asthma, so I was very concerned about putting it in her room. I aired it out in our screen room for about a week and the smell is better. I can still smell it, but much less intense. I did email KidsKraft about it and they said it is non toxic paint. So the paint is safe, just smells strong. I would have given the kitchen a 5 star rating, but the smell makes me nervous.

It is great craftsmanship but is really a pain to put together. It took us( my husband and I) 3 hours to put together. The directions are a little confusing at first, but once we got through the first page we seemed to get it. Wish I would have had someone else put it together. My daughter loves it and plays with it for hours.

In order to properly put together the stove/oven/sink portion of this kitchen set, you need piece 1 AND 3. Our box contained TWO piece 1's and NO piece 3. Being it was 10:45pm on Christmas Eve, my hubbie and I spent 4 hours rigging this so our daughters would have this Christmas morning. We contacted KidKraft the next business day (26th) and they are sending us the missing piece at no charge. Until this piece is delivered, we do not have the oven door or oven shelf. Thankfully our children are 3 and 4, so they haven't noticed. This kitchen is adorable and made of quality material. With the exception of the box missing a major piece and containing 2 identical pieces, we are very pleased with it. Our advice, DO NOT open the box and wait to build it at the last minute. We will never make that mistake again. Piece 3 is the right side large side piece.
