KidKraft Waterfall Mountain Wooden Train Set & Table with 120 Pieces, For Ages 3+

Train tables can be expensive but this one comes with a lot!! And Thomas wooden rail way line works very well with it. My son will be two years and 3 months old! on Christmas Eve! We are giving him the train table on Christmas morning! I did a lot of research on train tables before buying this one, by far the best for your money!! And I had to really save up for this gift for my little boy! It will be one of his best gifts we could ever give him so far! I know he is a big Thomas fan and I added a few of the Thomas wooden rail trains for this table. Could not afford a real Thomas train table, I hope this works!! And I think it will because he is a simple and kind little boy! I also will added Thomas train wall stickers all around the train table to give it the extra look and appeal! I think the price of the table is fair and you really can not put a price on pretend play! I understand the value of a child's play time at every stage of development; I'm not only a mom but I'm also an Early Childhood Educator! I hope this review helps parents who want to support the play time of their children! It will serve them well later in life!

Our son loves this train table. We got this for his birthday as he loves trains. He spends hours playing with it, mostly building tracks and destroying it. 🤣 The actual trains were a bit awkward to run down the tracks, but it's ok. I think it's because they are a bit bigger for the tracks, but our son doesn't mind it. So still a great buy and would still recommend it.

The table is fantastic. It's a great size and great quality. The wooden train set that it came with will be great and works with our other brio and Thomas trains, but the table is also great for our other Thomas Trackmaster train tracks too! Our toddler loves it and thinks it's "so cool" and "so special for me". I'm excited for it to grow with our toddler.

You should have seen our 3 year old grandson's face when he came home and found this in his bedroom. Priceless. He can't keep his hands off of this and we believe that this was the best purchase that we have ever made for him. So far. Very easy to construct and seems to be very durable. The only concern we have is the pressed wood (paper) construction, but it is very worth the amount we spent on it.

I ordered this table for my 17 month old son who loves trains... the price was great & the natural wood finish of the table matches his bedroom furniture. My husband put it together relatively easily following the "picture" directions. We had to flip one of the front/back straight pieces of wood around in order to get the "lip" around both sides of the table. The table top was not laying flat, but once we figured out why it was an easy fix. The screw holes on these straight pieces aren't centered, in order to get the lip around the edge, so make sure you have them both facing the same way (with the bigger space on top). I'm very happy with the table itself, the bins & pieces not so much... The red drawer bins slide out on either side, meaning you have to take one out in order to access the center bin... Not a huge deal, but I wish they all slid front to back so they could be easily accessed. The pieces are cheap. The track fits together, but some are a little tight, while others are a bit loose. The trains, cars, and people are wood and not painted very well. I don't plan on using a lot of these anyway, as many pieces are too small for my toddler, and I am replacing tracks/trains with higher quality Brio pieces. All in all, I feel the table alone is worth this price, so I am definitely happy with it. The tracks aren't too bad, but there are better ones out there. All the little pieces are sort of cheap in my opinion, but are easily replaceable. I'd still recommend this set and I am happy with it, especially for the $120 I paid for it. My son absolutely LOVES it, and that is truly all that matters =)

We gave this to my son for his 4th birthday yesterday. Walmart has the best price on this set compared to other stores right now. I almost got one of the cheaper table sets, but since my son is older I decided to go with one with lots of pieces. I am so glad I did-He has spent the entire day playing with it. I wanted to get it because he always plays with the one at our public library when we visit and never wants to leave. He also already had a small track set like what comes with this table, but would get frustrated with it on the carpet, and it was no fun having to put it away and then get help to put it back together. He likes playing with the train, but he also adds his Matchbox cars and army guys-great for imaginative play. His 6 year old sister likes playing with it too. So far it's a hit and everything I expected. The only negative thing I have to say is that on one of the end pieces of the table there is a pretty significant crack near a predrilled screw hole. It didn't go all the way through the piece of wood, so we were able to still put the table together and it doesn't seem to affect it's function. I plan on contacting Kidcraft and hope that they will send a replacement piece. Other than that it was easy (less than 30 minutes) to put together.

This is a great train table and I got the best price around from Walmart.com. I purchased it at what I thought was a decent price from another online store and got an email that the item was back ordered until late January. So I did a google search for the item and found it at a $40 savings on Walmart.com. Only 3 stars bc a few pieces were missing. But I could live without those. My 3.5 yr old boys love it and the three trays that slide underneath the table are great for storing extra pieces and other toys. My husband assembled it and it took him about 2 hours (I was gone for that long and when I got back it was finished). The landscape print on the boards doesn't quite match the placement of the train tracks which is a little annoying to me but the kids don't mind. The larger wooden trains you can buy fit on the tracks but are a little big and sometimes don't fit under the bridges or mountain. It's a very nice set that will give hours of play and will make a great table for Legos and other activities.

Have had it a week and it's OK but I have some buyer's remorse. I wanted a table and some some track, some tunnel(s) and bridges - all the stuff that adds up quickly when you are piecemeal purchasing these things. More or less that is satisfied except for quality - more on this later. After the aforementioned basics, my feeling is that many the other "pieces" that come with these all-inclusive kits and not just exclusive to KidKraft (block cut-out people, lampposts, road signs, etc) are really useless and just get in the way of the kid having fun with (duh) the train. Worse, they become projectiles and also landmines for barefooted parents in dark rooms. Furthermore, my kids could care less about the trimmings - they just wanted to roll the train. If I had to do over I'd probably just buy the Melissa and Doug table and their Deluxe Wooden Train kit for a bit more. Why? I think the quality would be better and be more durable. While I'd never seen the KidKraft train table out in the world I have seen the M&D table elsewhere in public/institutional settings and it seems more comparable in durability to the expensive Brio, Thomas and Chuggington tables. I think the KidKraft table may just be beaten into submission if my toddler figures out how much flex is in the 2 haves of the 1/4" homesoate top and decides to test it. Also the rails on which the convenient storage bins sit on is really cheap, already deflecting under the weight of the included items and will surely break in due time. The cam/screw construction of the table itself seems good enough for the price but I just know how much better it could have been to spend a few more bucks for a sturdier unit. Also, and this really is the BIG problem for me is, that the wooden track pieces are irregular and obviously co-mingled from different vendors because there are different thicknesses at the joints (which causes trains to crash) different groove cuts for the rails (I mean C'MON this has been pretty standard, people). I just think that the quality could be better and is if you go elsewhere for spending just a little bit more. That said, my 2 year old was glued to it for 48 hours after X-Mas we'll just see how it holds up. Good luck and Happy New Year everyone.

My husband built the table the night before Christmas and it was missing the screws and parts to assemble all of the train pieces and table top parts. Beyond frustrating. It also has a chip on the tabletop missing some color

I bought this for my son's birthday and am extremely disappointed with the quality of the table and the train pieces. The table top is flimsy, cheap MDF board. The track pieces do not fit well together (for example the train falls off in the mountain because the track pieces do not align). Would not recommend and would not buy from this company again. Spend your money elsewhere!
