KILZ Over Armor Wood & Concrete Solid Coating Resurfacer, Exterior, Textured, Chocolate, 1 Gallon

The product was everything I expected except the color was a little more red than I hoped "chocolate" would be. In my opinion, it needs less red and more black undertone. To apply to my deck, I brushed it on the walking surface kind of thick first, let it dry, and the next day I rolled it with another coat. I brush painted the railing and skirt, with two coats. I have a 12'x20' deck and I used almost 6 cans of the textured product on the walking surface and skirt, for my two-coat method, and 1.5 cans of the smooth product for two coats on the railing. I'm satisfied with the way the product finishes after it's dry (except wishing the color was more brown).

This product does what it says and more. I used it on an old deck behind my house. I didn't want to pay the high price to replace the deck because wood is too expensive these days. So I decided to do what my father had taught me years ago. If you want to make it sturdy again you just need filler. So he would buy those cans filled with the foam that expands and he would spray it between the cracks of the boards where the planks on top were nailed to the board under the deck. Then after a few days to make sure it was dry, used one of those ha ha, I guess it was called a ginsue knife ( SP ) and lay it flat on the boards where the foam was sticking up and just sliced each piece that was sticking up so the deck looked even and flat. Then he would paint it and it looked very nice. But he didn't have this Kilz paint. I bought an 5 foot extension handle for my roller so I could stand up while painting the deck. One thing I did not expect was a paint so thick that it would be hard to roll on the deck. But I found that if I sprayed a little water from a water bottle on to the paint while it was sitting in the paint pan it became very nice and it would stick on the roller and make the job go much easier. Only took me about two hours to roll the deck and it did come out great. The paint filled in many of the cracks in the old deck boards making it look really good. I still have two gals left and it says it is good for concrete too so I am thinking I will do the floor of my garage to see what that looks like. Have fun painting.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My concrete patio was fading. I bought 2 gallons of slate gray. Turned out very nice. A little thick but does a great job with a roller.

Takes a little practice to learn how to apply it but after that it works great. Follow the directions and prep your project beforehand and it works as described. Dried quicker than I thought it would which was a good thing. Very happy with the results. I used it on a 1200.sq ft area and I'd use it again.

Gave old cracked and weathered wood a new look. Nice but wish it came in a darker gray.

I bought this as a replacement for my usual deck paint. Im hoping that it will last more than a year this time. It is pretty thick but can be rolled or brushed on. It recommends two coats and so do I. It does have a texture to it which I like because its nonslip. There is one thing to look out for and that is it recommends that you use a deck wash to prep it to get rid of the oxygenated layer in order for a more secure bond. The product I used caused the underlying old paint to lift off in some areas once I applied Over Armor and it came off in patches. So you might expect to have to sand or wire brush those areas down to the wood and feather in the edges. It could be that I didnt wash the deck wash off as thoroughly as I should have. So far Im very pleased with the results and well see how it holds up over the year. P.S. this review box doesnt like apostrophes so insert one where needed and it added repeats of sentences that I had to remove and causes the cursor to go to the last character of all the text. If Walmart wants any further reviews fuggedaboutit. It could be that I didnt rinse off the deck wash as thoroughly as I should have. <See!

This is more about Walmart delivery than the paint itself. Out of FIVE cans, every single can leaked all over. None were usable. Working with Walmart to address this issue. The delivery guy took most of them back and cancelled all but one can from the order. However, upon opening the box, that one had leaked as well. See photo.

one good gallon, 4 bad solid dried gallons. it's completely dried out. I purchased one good gallon from store. 2 gallons from walmart.com were dried out, and 2 gallons from another store dried out.

Manufactures date code is 8 / 2021 {1H128162 88128). This paint is 4 years and 8 months old. Kilz carries a three year shelf life anytime after that can lead to major problems! I ordered on-line and returned it to a local store for a full refund. BUYERS BEWARE!!! Note: The front label was even a different color!!!
