Must have in the barn

Annamarie507 August 7, 2018

I've only used these a few times and I am shocked at how awesome they work. I bought a new horse and she had an awful break out of scratches after she got to the barn. It is so nice using these instead of trying to use water and have her try to kill me the whole time. She doesn't even try to kick when I use these. Great product! Everyone should have these. She is healing great since I started using these.

Great for Rain Rot

Islandmama March 5, 2013

My mini donkey gets rain rot on her ears, these cloths are a great way to treat the rot. I first shampooed her ears with medicated shampoo, then use these cloths every day for treatment. They're very easy to use, and can be re-used a few times before tossing. Next winter, I will use these preventatively, and hopefully will avoid rain rot altogether.

Great tack box staple

LunasMom June 8, 2023

These cloths are wonderful. I love using them for small cuts etc on my horse. I try to always keep on hand. Only improvement I have for them would be a smaller size. I don't always feel I use the entire cloth and for the price I hate to waste it. I have tried cutting them with okay results.

Seems to be working

morse March 3, 2011

I bought this in an effort to heal my horse's ongoing crusty scabs on his back legs (even in winter or kept inside they won't go away). I have tried prescription meds previously, in addition to buying numerous remedies (Eqyss spray, betadine scrub, antibacterial dish soap, Banixx, and more). After two days the scabs started falling off when I would rub the wipe on them, which I think is a good sign. Unlike some other treatments, my horse isn't getting upset about the applications either. After the initial cleaning, I've been using just 1/2 a wipe a day which seems to be enough. I'm hopeful that I've finally found something to heal my horse's unusually difficult fungus.

A great product

BigMissy June 30, 2010

These work really well. I use them in prepping horses close to a sale or if they have a skin issue. They work really well and I've found that if your horses are clean, you can reuse these which helps on the cost. I keep a ziploc to put them in at each horses stall so that they each have their own. They still can only be used a few times though. You can cut them in half to cut cost a little more if you're just grooming.

A must for every grooming tote

DrLydiaGray April 4, 2010

I "discovered" this product years ago when I was caring for a horse with a skin condition (rain rot, I think it was) and am so glad that SmartPak now carries them! They're perfect for quickly cleaning up those minor wounds and scrapes that horse always seem to get and are much more "sterile" than a barn rag in a bucket of water. The package has a zip lock on it so the individual wipes stay moist and ready-to-use. I always keep one package in my daily grooming tote and one package with the first aid supplies so I never run out. I love this product for scratches!!!

Got it on Autoship

PiratesGold March 26, 2011

My horse is prone to scratches on his legs and rain rot on his rear end. I have every ointment and shampoo known to the horse industry. These cloths were my answer. After a lesson in the ring, a trail ride or just a grooming day, I wipe down his legs and body. I use 1/2 a cloth for each wipe. I keep Dermacloth in my grooming bag and it is so much easier to apply then the sprays and shampoo. My horse is also very allergic to ticks. He has welts from tick bites. These cloths help in cleaning the infected area before I apply ointment. I have this on autoship with my supplements and Cantering Chef Apple Cinnamon and Blackberry Vanilla treats. Spoiled, not at all. Well loved, absolutely 100% correct.

Handy to Have

Lilly124 June 28, 2015

I use Dermacloth between medicated shampoos, when there isn't the opportunity to give my mare a good bath. She is prone to scratches on her lower hind legs. To make the most of each sheet, I wipe the area with a regular baby wipe first to get off any excess dirt. Originally, I used the sheets twice before tossing them, but I don't think they work as well a second time. It's worth the cost to use them once with the maximum benefits. Dermacloth has not solved her scratches problem, but I think it's a good preventative measure.

Like it - convenient but expensive

HorseNut3 October 20, 2012

I got a couple of packages, and was very pleased on how convenient they were to use. A few days and a few simple wipes over the problem areas for 3 or 4 days showed good results and best of all (it was fast to do this). However I can get the same results by spending another 5 minutes detailing theses problem areas while grooming each horse every day and get the same type of results. Also I mainly wanted to try these on 1 particular horse's forehead (she has never been able to grow her hair back there ever since I adopted her with no hair there...even using very expensive stuff from my vets...I'm not sure she'll ever grow hair on her forehead again...but I keep trying) After about 5 days, the Dermacloth started to dry out the area too much and I had to quit using it and start moisturizing the area for a few days. But for about 2 or 3 days in a row...it's great...just need stop using it before it starts to dry out area too much. Or maybe use it every other day or so. It's a really good cloth for a few days or for those here and there use at times (and it works fast on most problem areas)...but IMHO it's just too expensive. But it doesn't really do anything more than other methods I've tried...other than save me a bit of time. Which might be worth it on some days for me and for some people all the time. I wish there was a "Maybe" recommend this product to a friend. If a friend needed to save herself some time by using this...yes I'd recommend it. If a friend need to save some cash (more than she needed another 5 minutes), I would not recommend it.

Not as advertised

Postingtrot November 5, 2020

Not moist enough to do anything upon opening, not in a resealable bag, and no interior bag as shown on video. I bought 2 of these packages based on the positive reviews in hopes to help my gelding's scratches heal. The product received is completely useless.
