Exceptional quality, high protein "fast food"

ms March 4, 2026

Exceptional quality, high protein no carb flavorful easy eat it right out of the can mix it with a salad put it over broccoli have it on the sandwich with low carb bread or wrap it it's really so convenient so cost efficient and such a healthy alternative to fast food for quick meals. I highly recommend.

Great taste in a can!

STEVEN June 5, 2026

The can was packed with mackerel! It is a solid texture that made me feel like I was eating meat, not fish. I had a mild flavor that was very good. I did add a bit of salt halfway through and that improved the flavor for me. I was left very satisfied by this giant in the canned fish industry. I would buy it more often if it cost a bit less - but the quality is right in the can! I would recommend this to people that think tuna is a bit strong. Most people will like that it is boneless and skinless also.

Great for mackerel fans!

Dru March 11, 2026

Man, these are actually pretty good. I bought em cause I hate dealing with bones and skin and honestly? No regrets. The fillets stay nice and firm, not all slimy like some cans. I drained a little oil, threw it on sourdough toast with Dukes mayo and hot sauce. Tastes fresh, no weird fishy smell. Only thing is it's small, four ounces, so if you're hungry it'll disappear fast. But hey, for the price it's solid. Way better than the cheap stuff. I'll get more next time.

One of the best tinned fishes I've had. Mild flavored and not slimy or salty. Not too much oil either. Really good option for quick easy protein , in a salad, even with pasta. Goes well with onions. Something I always have in my pantry.

Okay if you don't mind how it's packed

Patricia June 2, 2026

Would recommend based on price and availability for mackerel, however the packaging changed to keep price down, but it did also change the packing of the fish - not individual solid pieces, 3 cans now so not a coincidence were just shreds :(

King Oscar Mackerel in Olive Oil is a superior product. Always tastes and smells fresh, great texture, very satisfying, no weird filler. Just fish and it's delicious.

Tastes Great!

RDavis September 15, 2020

At the start of the pandemic, I started buying this canned mackerel because it was an easy way to get protein delivered to the house. Now that I can safely get all sorts of groceries via supermarket curbside pickup, I still eat about a half a can of this mackerel a day. I put it on rice, together with some vegetables.

So good!

Nicole September 8, 2024

These were so good. This was the first time I ever purchased mackerel. I had low expectations. It’s more tender than tuna and has nice flavor. I just used paper towels to soak up all the oil and put a little Himalayan salt. So yummy. Will buy again. I’ll try to think of some recipes for it, but it’s good out of the can too.

Geesh..

Zane September 14, 2020

If you are broke like me and try to get a deal at Walmart. Save it and turn to Amazon as this would save you time and money. There are two cans of this got damaged and one spills all over the box and the other one was dented and thus both are rendered uneatable. So, I tried to request a refund but the support assistant does not respond at all. I guess if you really want to use Walmart's delivery service, please simply stick to something that's isnt as delicate as a can.

They Sold Spoiled Fish

Tiffany November 9, 2024

PLEASE Be Careful! My father opened up a can this morning (11/10/24), delivered from the store the day before, and it was Spoiled!! And just a tip, I know it’s fish so hopefully you’ll still be able to tell, but if it smell bad, It’s Not Supposed to! He eats these all the time to help him balance his Diabetes 2 episodes, so he can immediately tell. His was bad! Check Your Fish!!
