I've been using this product for the last 20 years, I won't use anything else. It's perfect. It's just getting harder to find the 2-20 pound bag deals for cheap anymore..
I purchased a two pack of 20 pound bags of charcoal briquettes recently, and have completely use one of them already. I have to say, these briquettes were exactly what I expected! They were small, square-shaped and black. Not like those "rugged, natural" charcoal products. These have a nice, tidy appearance so they look great anywhere. I applied some volatile liquid to them and ignited them as instructed. Can you imagine my surprise at how well these little buggers burned, providing nice, even heat. I also discovered you can write on the back of a shovel with them, preferably before you ignite them. You can also rub them on your face to help you hide in the woods at night. I'm sure there are many other uses for these, such as filtering moonshine or snowman eyes, but you just can't beat them for cooking. It does make it a little hard to clean the oven, though.
Can't beat this charcoal for the money. Versatile and consistent. Burns hot and long. My go to for just about everything.
I've used only Kingsford briquets for a very long time, probably 30 years or more. The product is great quality, with no variance between purchases. It lights easily, burns predictably, and makes great smoke. My cooks will often be 100 lb. pork chops, 10 to 16 Boston butts, 20 or more chicken halves, ribs by the case, or as many as 25 steaks. I really do not want to use any other brand.
I always used Kingsford Original Charcoal since I began grilling, going on 40 yrs. now. Never had a problem and if I did it was something I messed up. I have had friends bring over charcoal at different times that wasn't Kingsford, and it was always less than quality results using it. Kingsford is the best.
Our Church has held 2 Chicken BBQs per year for over 40 years, and we have always used Kingsford Original Charcoal. This year, due to price increases, we decide to purchase a cheaper brand of charcoal. We made a Huge mistake. Half way through cooking the Chicken, the charcoal went out, and we spent over an hour lighting more charcoal to cook the rest of the chicken. We were lucky enough to cook the rest of the chicken and sell it all, but we will never again use a sub-par charcoal. From now on, it will be Kingsford Original Charcoal.
I have noticed that while the new design may light faster it does not burn as long or as hot. I have had to increase the amount I use and cook longer hoping that the coals are still warm. I am still using but have begun to use some other brands( Sam's Club and Royal Oak) to see which is the best.
I've been using your product since I was a teen. Everything was fine up until a couple of years ago when I noticed the coals didn't appear to be as hot as they used to be. I thought it was my Weber grill so I cleaned it and the same problem. Then I started to read reviews of people with the same observations. My problems used to be how to keep the heat down, now I can't even sear a steak.
Will stick to lump charcoal.
Have any of the experts in your packaging, design, marketing or sales departments attempted to successfully open a bag of your briquets, using the instructions on the bag "Open From End On Front"? I have tried many times over several years and this method failed, CONSISTENTLY!!! I would include an image but your system did NOT allow.
