I've been using this product for the last 20 years, I won't use anything else. It's perfect. It's just getting harder to find the 2-20 pound bag deals for cheap anymore..
Really good charcoal. I have tried other brands in the past but the briquettes are usually smaller & I have to use more of the bag. A little goes a long way with this stuff. I also refuse to purchase any with lighter fluid because I have ran into the trouble of it being old & the briquettes will no longer light so I choose to use these & my own lighter fluid to make sure I save myself the hassle of my bbq being delayed to run out & get lighter fluid. Also this bag is more bag for the buck opposed to the ready to start stuff.
We love Kingsford Charcoal. When using our charcoal chimney there is no need for any kind of fluid. It starts quickly and leaves no chemical taste on your food as does charcoal soaked in fluid.
really the only product i use. i cook 3-2-1 ribs, rib-eye, skirt steak, veggies , a bunch of other food. i use it on my oklahoma joe smoker, chargriller outlaw and a small portable chargriller. people saying that its not good , don't know what they are doing (now the product that i would say burns too fast is the charcoal with mesquite in it.- i only used it once)
I have used Kingsford for over 30 years and the last few years the longevity of the charcoal had decreased to a point that it will not last long enough to grill a burger let alone a chicken on direct heat. I don't know what you who have given reviews and are stating it lasts along time, are doing to make it last. I use a large bbq and a portable one and as an example I used a half a bag of match light ( were on our boat ) in my small bbq and let the charcoal get white, took about 15 min, the coals lost there heat before the burgers were done. I wasn't to many years ago I would have coals left over after grilling chicken. I have seen the change in the appearance in the briquettes and I thought it was just me at first, but know I know it is not me it is the briquettes. I am looking for a new briquette to use. I do a lot of cooking , winter and summer, and need a briquette that will last the way kinsford use to. A good briquette has to have two main qualities, one is longjevity and the other is good smoke taste, Kingsford you now only have one of the two. Please bring back the old briquettes for those of us who do slow cooking.
We recently held a chicken bbq for our volunteer fire department. We purchased one pallet of this product (which normally lasts both bbqs) we were very disappointed when we had to use 8 extra bags just to get the pit started. This does not include all the extra bags used to keep it going. This pallet seemed to burn alot faster then previous years we hold two bbqs a year and we depend on the bags to last so we can make money to keep the station going sad to say this bbq our hopes kinda went up in smoke
Have any of the experts in your packaging, design, marketing or sales departments attempted to successfully open a bag of your briquets, using the instructions on the bag "Open From End On Front"? I have tried many times over several years and this method failed, CONSISTENTLY!!! I would include an image but your system did NOT allow.
Successfully used Kingsford for nearly 30 years. Until now. This year we bought 2 bags of Matchlight and it is harder to start and burned out much faster then before. Then tried Original with same result. BTW, been using my grill for 6 years, so it's not the problem. I see on your Website you call it "your newest briquettes". Good luck with that. Not all change is for the better.
I purchased last two season some Kingsford Original and and on two separate occasions, had about half briquettes with metal wires! in them. Contacted Kingsford, but the customer service lady wasn't too concerned about it and even told me to still use them as usual. I replied that this is unacceptable and would like the refund and she reluctantly promised to send 1 coupon to replace it. This poor quality and unconcerned customer service won't be tolerated in our household and we already switched to other brand. Also those briquettes are so light and don't burn as long as they used to. Sorry but, until I hear something else, my money will be spend on better quality. Mike,
We are Looong time users of KIngsford Charcoal. This season we bought a 2x20 lb package as we usually do. We do a lot of dutch oven cooking and the number of coals you use is important. We find the new coals don't last as long, so they are messing up our recipes. We found an older bag in our camper, and compared. The old briquet was at least 1/3 larger than the new ones. We have also found they don't last as long in our kettle cooker. Please go to the old tried and true.back
