Nearly impossible to beat this prices, Walmart does it again!!! Kingford original, no need for anything else.
I've been using this product for the last 20 years, I won't use anything else. It's perfect. It's just getting harder to find the 2-20 pound bag deals for cheap anymore..
I've tried the other brands. I thought I could save a little money. Big mistake. You get what you pay for, and Kingsford is the best. They light the best and burns the longest. No competition. My advice is to stock up on the 40 lb. twin pack when they go on sale for $9.99 at the big box home improvement stores.
I have a Santa Maria grill which I use weekly. I tried lump charcoal, but that burned so quickly that I couldn't maintain heat for long periods of time. I first bought Kingsford in a two-bag wrapper at Home Depot two years ago. It lights quickly and sustains a burn for hours, just what I need when I lay wood on it for my barbecues. Kingsford is the only product I'll ever use now.
Attached are pictures of my club's bbq 8/28/2021. Here are a few facts. We racked 518 chicken halves averaging 1.523 pounds or 24.4 ounces each. What a slab of meat. Total of meat weighed 790 pounds but only 520 pounds charcoal, that's 26 20# bags. That means it only required 0.659 # to grill a pound of chicken for 2 hours. Chicken bbq is a major fundraiser for Mount Sidney Ruritan Club as we have monthly bbq dates to grill approximately 4500 -5000 during the grilling season. Kingsford has done a good job for us over the years and purchase 5-6 pallets for the year. Thank you Kingsford, Wayne BBQ Chairman
I have been using Kingsford for 40 years! So when I ordered my dream cooker there was no doubt what charcoal I would be using! I use your Original, Apple-wood and Hickory, I also use natural hickory, pecan and oak wood for a nice blend. I am and will always use Kingsford, just wish it would burn a little longer like back in the day.
I get a stack of Kingsford good and hot, throw on some soaked hickory sticks and smoke additional Kingsford and I'm ready to smoke some ribs, chicken, pork butt...whatever is on the menu. Tried cheaper charcoal that either went out or burned up to quickly. LOVE this stuff!!
The last six bags of Kingsford charcoal I have bought burnt out extremely fast!! I thought maybe just a bad bag or two but the quality is nowhere near what it used to be! Not sure if they changed their process or what but I'm definitely not buying anymore. After 35 years of what used to be a great product I'm no longer going to put myself through this aggravation!! Good by Kingsford, time to find a new favorite!
I have just opened my second bag of Kingsford Original charcoal in six weeks that is so dusty it almost unusable. This is not what I have come to expect from Kingsford. This has been my go to for many years but that will change if I keep opening product that looks like this.
Have any of the experts in your packaging, design, marketing or sales departments attempted to successfully open a bag of your briquets, using the instructions on the bag "Open From End On Front"? I have tried many times over several years and this method failed, CONSISTENTLY!!! I would include an image but your system did NOT allow.
