Excellent cake mix, doesn't taste much different than regular angel food cake, enjoyed by everyone.
No difference from regular angel cake: Mix this dry, with 1 x 20 oz can of crushed pineapple (use a large bowl, it will poof up!), stir for a few minutes, pour into a sprayed bundt pan, springform pan, etc, and bake 350 for 25 minutes!! Overturn the cake while in the pan to cool, then shake out! Serve with whipped cream for a decadent dessert!
Hard to tell the difference between this and non-gluten free !
For those who need a gluten free alternative to a regular angel food mix this is an acceptable alternative; however it really doesn't have the taste or the texture of the non gluten free mix. Also, the mix requires a full dozen egg whites so unless you are making custard or hollandaise sauce you are going to waste a lot of eggs. I possibly under-cooked it as it didn't have the light, airy texture of a regular angel food cake. As with many gluten free items this one was very expensive ($15). If I ever need to make another angel food cake I will look for a recipe online that uses gluten free flour rather than use this mix.
This mix takes 12 (1dozen) eggs! Looked great when I took it out of the oven but immediately shrunk and got dense. Not sure what I did wrong and I used to make angel food cake all the time when I was a kid - though not gluten free. Very disappointing because I love their other products.
i wanted a regular "add water only" cake mix. this mix one calls for 12 egg whites. not what i was expecting.
Cake failed and tasted awful, also wasted a dozen expensive eggs.
After reading the one review on the site the product seemed promising. The cake turned out very dense and the flavour wasn't up to par. The results are nothing like what I would have expected from an Angel Food Cake. Also, 12 egg whites were required to make this. Not good value for the overall price I had to pay
this items was substituted for regular angel food cake. It is not a substitute. This mix required 12, yes 12 egg whites.
