I decided to upgrade my mixer when this one went on sale. The smaller one I had before wouldn't shut off (the slide lever needed repairs). I have a small home based cookie business so I use my mixer to make alot of dough & icing. My 5 qt is probably 15-20 yrs old and still works but could use a tune up. I love that this new one has slower options. I no longer have to deal with flour flying out of the mixer because the lower level lets me slowly incorporate my dry ingredients. This also came with an extra smaller bowl and a cool spatula with a clipped tip that makes it easier to clean off ingredients off the blade. Very happy with my purchase. I also love the color. I chose "Ice" which is aqua. The picture looks like it has a more sparkly/metallic finish, but its actually matte.
Worth the buy! Is a beautiful blue, like a dark robin egg color. It is about Has a larger bowl than the standard, and comes with 2 (!!), a larger and smaller bowl. Much better attachments, and this cool spoon to get EVERYTHING off the whisk. More speeds, more power, better safety feature (in my opinion). All around worth the buy! Add the fact that it is basically the same price as the standard KitchenAid makes this an amazing deal!
This kitchen aid has a timeless design that you will want to display on your counter and never put away. Lasts for decades. I bought this for my daughter, mine is over 25 years old and works and looks great!
Love my new mixer I got on sale at Sam's. It works so much easier than my older one. Love the ease of use and the price. Sam's delivered it promptly. Thanks
I bought this to replace my old grey KA that recently died. The color choices and the smaller extra bowl with attachments were what convinced me to make this purchase. And the great price.
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Best purchase I have ever made as far as appliances go. I waited quite sometime as I had an old hand me down stand mixer but this is by far superior to what I was using. I love the fact that it comes with two different size bowls , and for attachments, speed adjustments are easy and are perfect for whatever stage I am at in the makings of some great baking. Con is .. cannot locate any bowl cover with slits to add ingredients or bowl scraper attachment in my vicinity . The box says 5.5 and I am not sure what sizes I should order for this stand online if any are available . mixer
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is my second kitchen aid mixer- had the same bowl- lifting style for over 20 years! Used the new mixer a few times! Worked great, but when working heavier dough, the bowl became disconnected from the raised locking mechanism and "dropped" out of place. This never happened with my old mixer!
I have an older kitchen aid mixer that I love but, it's old and on its last leg. This new one feels less durable all the way around. The bowls are not as sturdy. The handles are not as thick as my others and almost hurts to pick it up full. I purchased a pasta attachment and the mixer got very hot just a few minutes into making the pasta. The snapper to secure the bowl to the mixer is also not great. The lift bar I don't like at all. I'd rather left the mixer top itself like the older ones have.
I bought this several weeks ago, washed all of the bowls and utensils and just stored it due to being out of town. I used it for the first day today and in the middle of my mixing it just stopped working. I tried a different outlet but that did not help. Not sure what happened but my previous Kitchen Aid that I had for almost 10 years never had an issue. Glad I bought the extended warranty.
If i could give it negative stars, I would. I got it home, set it up, tested it, put some butter and sugar in it with the paddle attachment for cookie dough, turned it on to stir, and the paddle barely spun twice before it burned up and quit...dead. Sarted researching and found out they started making the unit with a smaller motor and plastic mechanical parts in 2024. I feel complete defrauded that I spent hard earned money on a lie. KitchenAid isnt the high end brand of Whirlpool anymore. They have gone to the dark side. If they're going to make and sell cheap garbage then the regular price needs to reflect cheap garbage, and they need to clearly disclose that you are not purchasing the reliable workhorse that you have grown to trust. It was only then that I started reading the reviews and realized that this same thing happened to way too many others. The good reviews were mostly from people who dont need a heavy duty tool and are happy becaue it looks pretty on their counter. Shame on KitchenAid for scamming all of us.
