KitchenAid 5.5 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer, Light Blue

I decided to upgrade my mixer when this one went on sale. The smaller one I had before wouldn't shut off (the slide lever needed repairs). I have a small home based cookie business so I use my mixer to make alot of dough & icing. My 5 qt is probably 15-20 yrs old and still works but could use a tune up. I love that this new one has slower options. I no longer have to deal with flour flying out of the mixer because the lower level lets me slowly incorporate my dry ingredients. This also came with an extra smaller bowl and a cool spatula with a clipped tip that makes it easier to clean off ingredients off the blade. Very happy with my purchase. I also love the color. I chose "Ice" which is aqua. The picture looks like it has a more sparkly/metallic finish, but its actually matte.

Worth the buy! Is a beautiful blue, like a dark robin egg color. It is about Has a larger bowl than the standard, and comes with 2 (!!), a larger and smaller bowl. Much better attachments, and this cool spoon to get EVERYTHING off the whisk. More speeds, more power, better safety feature (in my opinion). All around worth the buy! Add the fact that it is basically the same price as the standard KitchenAid makes this an amazing deal!

I love it. I don't know how I lived without it. I love the extras, the small bowl, scraper and whisk. I made pizza dough last weekend and will be trying fresh pasta next. It is easy to use and there is a lot of information that KitchenAid provides in their manual, their YouTube videos and recipes online. When you make it yourself, you can control what goes in and I believe it will always tase better.

Absolutely love this mixer. I chose the blue one, which is so cute. It works so well. I was having trouble mixing cookies and dough up because of arthritis. But with this mixer I'm back in the kitchen again making cookies and fresh bread. And my family couldn't be happier.

Need a 10 minute KNEAD, then you NEED this!

This was a great buy. It lives up to its name of being an aid in the kitchen. The color is perfect and it makes bread making a breeze. We need this for our business and it has been a huge help since they day it arrived. We've been able to make so many more perfect loaves of bread and pasta for a meal service project we've been tasked with managing.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) This is my second kitchen aid mixer- had the same bowl- lifting style for over 20 years! Used the new mixer a few times! Worked great, but when working heavier dough, the bowl became disconnected from the raised locking mechanism and "dropped" out of place. This never happened with my old mixer!

I bought this several weeks ago, washed all of the bowls and utensils and just stored it due to being out of town. I used it for the first day today and in the middle of my mixing it just stopped working. I tried a different outlet but that did not help. Not sure what happened but my previous Kitchen Aid that I had for almost 10 years never had an issue. Glad I bought the extended warranty.

Purchased one for my wife for Christmas, the first one was dead on arrival, exchanged for another and now, 30 days later after being used lightly about 4-5 times, won't turn on. This is ridiculous, for a $400 mixer. I'm not just disappointed, I'm saddened that my wife was so happy about getting this and now she says she doesn't want another, or any more products from this company if it's going to be this unreliable.
