It grinds the coffee beans well to your liking. The spice grinder part works well. There are two spice grinder bowls with tops. You have to make sure you put the top on the small bowls when grinding spices or it will be everywhere (user error). The spice coffee bean grinder works well. I have other Kitchen Aid powered products and other Kitchen Aid kitchen tools.
You can grind your on coffe and spices...fresh, out of the grinder.
This is the multi use tool I have wanted . Heavy duty and works great.
Works great would definately recommend!
It looks and works just like it supposed to work ... very nice grinder for a small home
Thrilled with yet another KitchenAid product. Glad I didn't go with the 'cheaper' brands that offer one grinder basin as this model offers THREE, one for coffee beans, one for spices and one for you pick it. For me, I used for grinding egg shells into a fine calcium powder and it performed perfectly. My other KitchenAid products have lasted for years and I have no doubt this grinder will too, probably because it's still made in the USA. Look forward to seeing that happen with other products in the near future!
HAS 1 WASHABLE CUP FOR GRINDING COFFEE BEANS HAS 2 WASHABLE CUPS FOR GRINDING DRY HERBS AND SPICES AND 3 WASHABLE COVERS 1 THAT IS A SHAKER EASY TO KEEP TO KEEP CLEAN GREAT QUALITY
Disliked: spice and coffee can escape grinder cup even coffee due to looseness of the lids and cause a mess.
We really liked this KitchenAid coffee and spice grinder—until we didn't. Unfortunately, after less than a year of normal use, the main drive mechanism that spins the grinding container failed. The drive is made from what appears to be a relatively soft rubber material, and once it wears out, the motor still runs, but the container no longer spins. All you get is a loud whining noise and absolutely no grinding. What's especially frustrating is that this is a critical component of the grinder, yet it doesn't seem durable enough to withstand regular use. We've already gone through two of these grinders, with the same issue. KitchenAid makes great products, so it's disappointing to have to replace an otherwise perfectly functional appliance because of one small but essential part. Hopefully, they'll consider upgrading the material or redesigning this drive mechanism so the product can actually last more than a year. Great product—until the drive breaks.
Spices do not grind, terrible product.
