[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this as a gift a few weeks ago and I am in love with it. The cordless feature makes the blender so easy to use. I can quickly grab it from my drawer and start using it. The battery stays charged for a long time so I don't have to worry about constantly charging it. I use this to make many of my everyday staples at home like salsas, refried beans, blended soups, among many other things. It's compact size and detachable battery make cleaning a quick and easy process.

The hand blender is heavier than I expected, but it is balanced well and is sturdy. I love not having to deal with a cord and finding counter surface near an outlet--I can use this anywhere. I also appreciate how quickly it charges and that it has an indicator light to show me when it's funny charged. The blender works very well in the cup receptacle that came with it as well as in my mixing bowls and pans. The pan protector attachment keeps it from damaging my nonstick pans. I'm very happy with this product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hand blender has been great for small batches of salsa because I can make it right in the mason jar it'll be stored in making for less dishes to wash. I was a little worried about about how much it would actually be able to blend being battery operated but it packs quite a punch. It's been great using it to blend stuff directly on the stove without having to worry about running a power cord across a hot stove top. I also like that it comes with a plastic guard to keep nonstick pans safe from scratches.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This KitchenAid handheld cordless stick mixer is a powerhouse! It left my old corded one from another brand in the dust! The battery holds a charge for a long time!! Up to two hours of use. So far, I have used this for soups and sauces, it is really great for a quick pesto, especially if you are just making a small dinner for two. This thing is not some flimsy mixer, it is tough and high quality, like you'd expect from KitchenAid. This comes with a convenient measuring and mixing cup which I used for my sauces and it has a lid to keep the rest fresh in the fridge. There is also a nifty attachment that protects your pans, so that you can puree your soups hot and right on the stove without scratching your favorite saucepan. Also, it is way quieter than my old stick mixer, or any mixer I've used before. What's even better is that the clean up is a breeze! Just wipe down the main part and detach and rinse the blade part, no irritating blender or food processor clean up and no nooks and crannies that catch food buildup. My old corded stick blender was my favorite tool in the kitchen and this KitchenAid cordless hand blender is in a whole new ballpark! It outperformed it in every way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Received this last week and immediately put it on the charger. Charged to full capacity in about 2 hours. Does a great job mixing whatever you put in to it. Used it to make pesto and it mixed everything great. Large capacity mixing container is included. Used it next on a cold soup and again, it blended everything perfectly. Used it several times and haven't had to charge it yet. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Just finished unpacking and now has a full charge. Speed control seems fine. My suggestion for product improvement is to provide non slip ridges or perhaps silicone overlay on conical blade handle so it is easier to grip and lock blade in place. The current plastic is somewhat slick in my opinion and this is with clean dry hands. I don't want to think about removing or attaching blade with wet fingers. I hope this suggestion will be incorporated in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got my first KitchenAid item, a 5-quart stand mixer, back in 1994 and have added to my collection whenever possible because their items are so useful and well-made. I have an immersion blender from another brand that I often use for soups, but I loved the idea of a cordless one because it would be safer to use at the stovetop than one with a cord. First, KitchenAid did a great job with the packaging with a minimal amount of styrofoam. And this blender has a very useful snap-on guard to protect cookware from the metal head of the blender. This makes me feel much more confident using the blender in my enameled cast iron cookware. I hope that KitchenAid will offer replacements at a fair price. I plugged the charging cable in and juiced up the battery/ The indicator light turns green when the battery is fully charged. The blender has a decent heft to it with the battery, but it is well-balanced and comfortable. I especially like that instead of a dial control, the variable speed is controlled by the depth to which I press the finger grip button. It is very intuitive. The first time I used it to blend a pudding icebox pie. That was two full minutes of blending, and it performed beautifully with no protest. The filling was delightfully smooth. Next test on the same charge was pulverizing one cup of rolled oats for my husband's instant oatmeal. Instead of a mixing bowl, I tried to perform this task in the included mixing cup. This was not the best method, requiring several lifts and shakes to finish the task. The third test, which really impressed me, was chopping 2 dozen hard cooked egg yolks for deviled eggs. They became perfectly blended in under 30 seconds, and the blender has not started slowing down yet. Cleanup is a cinch - i squirted a bit of soap into the mixing bowl with some warm water and blended that. The included mixing cup has a narrow non-skid ring on the bottom, and there is even a soft plastic cover for it. The user manual refers to another model that includes a whisk attachment and adapter, as well as a small chopper bowl attachment. If KitchenAid is reading this, I hope they will offer the whisk adapter and attachment separately. With a whisk, I could completely replace my old immersion blender. So far, my only complaint/caution is that you need to take special care to make sure that the blending arm is firmly attached to the motor body. There is not a separate release button; it twists off. You need to be certain that it firmly clicks into place, or the blending arm can pop free of the motor body. All told, however, this is a very-well made blender that I fully expect will offer many years of service.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to get the blender. I even made an excuse to use it. I have to say that I am not a fan. It is too heavy for me. It's possible that I had to hold it longer than intended. I was using it to whip coffee. It worked fine but my arms wore out from the weight of it. I will try it again but for now, not a fan.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially was considering picking up the all-clad cordless immersion blender, but opted for kitchenAid on history with brand and cost. Things that keep this from being a top-starred purchase: power, guard, and ease of usage. I make soup and smoothies primarily with it and it struggles with fibrous fruits like pineapple or chunks of frozen fruit. The guard was a struggle to get on the blade and the instructions weren't clear for its usage - ended up having to go to YouTube to see how to get it on. It's usage requires pressing the lock button AND the power button in order to use it and if you have a smaller hand the double button usage may be difficult. Also, the battery indicator is either green (power) or red (dead) with a lack of gradation or percentage view you will need to essentially charge after usage to ensure you have enough power and it doesn't die mid usage.
