I LOVE MY NEW INDUCTION RANGE

JuliaGay January 15, 2025

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I bought this range in December 2024. I am still getting used to the controls, but so far I love it!! Prior to buying this range we had a KitchenAid Gas range, which I loved but we are getting older and both my husband and I would leave the gas on by mistake. My induction range turns off as soon as I remove a pan.

Enjoying our new range

Valerie February 22, 2017

We've had our new induction range for about a month, and are very happy with it so far. The induction top is very quick to boil water, and it turns off instantly. I normally use my enameled cast iron or stainless cookware. I have not yet received the cookware set from the special offer, nor have I received the thermometer/probe. I have baked several times using the convection feature, and am still getting used to it. The easy convection feature adjusts the temperature down 25 degrees, but I'm finding that sometimes I need to add additional baking time, and sometimes I don't want the temperature adjusted. It probably depends on the type of item you are baking, and as I have not had a convection oven before, it is trial and error for me right now. The oven does take a while to warm up, but not as long as some of the reviews led me to believe. Maybe 15-20 minutes, depending on the temperature and amount of items in the oven. Overall, we are very happy with it. Everything works as advertised, and it looks very nice in our kitchen. If I could change something about it, I would add knobs to the front to control the cooktop. The glass cooktop controls are not difficult to use, but I like the look of the knobs on other high-end ranges. Also, the printed dots on the rings of the cooktop (that show you where to place pots), can sometimes make the cooktop look dirty, from a distance. I will glance over there, and think that some crumbs or something are on the cooktop and it needs cleaning, even when it is clean. These are very minor design issues, and do not affect my loving the new range. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Best Range Ever

Coll December 3, 2016

I was initially in the market for two other appliances, and did tons of research on this range. I wanted everything to match. So happy with this purchase, best range I have ever owned, with amazing features!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Great Features

CC November 10, 2016

I went to buy an electric range (no gas hook up in new house) and it was suggested by the salesperson that because I was used to gas I might be interested in the induction range instead since the cooktop is more manageable and when the heat setting gets turned off it stops cooking immediately, similar to a gas range. I love it! It boils a large pot of water in under 2 minutes. The convection oven is a plus and it cooks my roasts in a shorter amount of time and they seem juicier. I haven't used the lower oven yet but I'm sure it'll come in handy around the holidays. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I'm in LOVE!!

Dede December 8, 2016

I have been waiting for Kitchenaid to come out with a range with induction cooking. I have had their convection oven for 17 years and loved baking and roasting. Now with the induction cooktop it is like cooking with gas, but safer. I love the flexibility you have with the heat that is needed. Thank you again Kitchenaid. Glad I waited for Induction

Rick March 22, 2017

Induction cooktop does not disappoint! All most twice as fast to boil as old coil stove, and quick temp reduction to stop boil overs. Looking forward to the Kitchenaid cook set so I have more than two pans. I was expecting a quicker oven preheat thinking this level of oven would use more then one element to preheat, I was wrong in that assumption, it only uses one. Possibly because it only requires a 40amp service. If you like the looks of this range, go for it. To address the questions I have seen most: It does make a clicking sound on lower settings that can be heard in a quiet kitchen, once what you are cooking begins to sizzle or the vent hood is on, it can not be heard. So it does cycle the energy on and off to control the temp. I find the cooling fan that vents at rear of cooktop is a non concern, it is only loud enough to hear that something is on. First Induction Cooktop

Richard January 26, 2017

Didn't have a gas line plumbed in the location where our stove was, so considered an induction range. Couldn't have made a better choice. When combined with the convection oven and a warming drawer - I am very happy with the purchase. The induction top performs very well and is as flexible as gas - without the potential of HUGE messes. The oven works great - though I would say it takes a while to warm up... [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Induction is great, oven leaves much to be desired

DG December 18, 2016

The logistics and expense of getting gas installed turned me on to induction. I love the stove and it is true that it mimics gas heat however even as a very experienced cook I continue to have problems with the oven. It is most noticeable when it is on bake (as opposed to convection) and I am baking. The back is hotter than the front regardless of the pan I use or the type of cookie. Very frustrating. The other absolute flaw for a housewife is the timer beeps only once and then turns off by itself. If you enjoy having music or a TV on you probably won't hear it and don't even think about leaving the kitchen. If I had to do it over again I would probably research a little more and perhaps I would have found something that works better for me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Excellent operation but detective seal around cooktop

Sally August 14, 2017

Excellent performance, but the seal around the cook top is separated in the front and collects debris. We purchased a flat cook top for easy cleaning. The defect is highly disappointing, particularly for a higher end range. We'll be reaching out for service but are concerned over whether a repair person will be able to accomplish a repair that doesn't ruin the look of the range. Would not recommend at all !!!

N Hu January 30, 2025

I purchased this stove 2 years ago and have been having issues with the induction cooktop every since. It will randoming start beeping and shutting off then we have to reset the breaker to turn it back on. If I could give this no stars I would !! I had the extended warranty but the service person they sent to repair my stove didn't even look inside it. I explained what was wrong and he said he had to order 2 parts and left. I found out a month after that that one of the parts is now discontinued! On a 2 year old oven!! The only thing that Kitchen Aid offered me was to refund the price of my extended warranty and 35% off a new Kitchenaid,Whirlpool or Maytag appliance !!! I have kind of lost faith in this brand so why would I want to purchase new appliance by this brand !!! Not a very happy customer
