[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Kitchenaid range for about a month, and I love it! I love the variety of burner heat levels and sizes. the burners heat quickly. I've also used the warmer and it was awesome to have available while still cooking on other burners.
I'm not kidding when I say that this stove made me a better cook. It's the easiest stove I've ever used. The control of the heat settings versus the size of the pan you're using is a fantastic feature. Most glass top stoves I've used simply adjust heat and size at the same ratio, meaning it will overcook whatever is on a larger skillet. With this, I can slow cook large dishes at a lower temperature, and even let it simmer with the "simmer" feature. Baking is also a breeze, and incredibly user friendly, so that even my nine year old could use it to bake cupcakes for Father's Day!
Nice unit, however within the first week of ownership I had to unplug the unit to reset it. A few weeks later had to do the same thing. Last week got an error message the cooling fan was not cooling properly. Got online and chatted with the CSR who told me I would have to just unplug the unit and reset it everytime because a technician could not tell what was wrong unless they experienced the problem. I emailed Kitchen Aid who told me this was not the case. However, after 2.5 months of ownership and already needing service, I worry about what future issues could occur.
I am not happy with the 30-inch Element Electric Slide-In Convection Range. The local appliance store we always choose for appliances had to come out and replace the convection fan within the first week of owning it. The top elements are hard to keep clean and were scratched immediately (even though we were told they wouldn't scratch) and the white dots on the top to show where to place pans are annoying. We feel it doesn't heat evenly. I regret remodeling that I didn't run a gas line and get gas oven/stove top.
I bought a all KitchenAid (5) appliances. This stove looks great and looks as though it is top end. My only issue is that the top gets very hot and the cabinets that are close to stove also gets hot. Not sure why this happens. This is the first stove that this has happened. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Luckily I don't have small children. I would have sent it back.
I fell in love with this range when I saw it in the store! When it was delivered it was damaged! Then it did NOT! Work at all! Had to wait another week to get another one! The new one works OK! But the glass top is a nightmare to keep clean! It does not seem to be made solid like a lot of cheaper company models! I really expected a much better quality range from Kitchen Aid and for a $2,100.00 range! Yes it is beautiful to look at! But function and quality should be second to none! So I must be honest and say I would NOT! Recommend anyone to purchase this product!
I loved the look of the Kitchenaid appliances and thats the only reason I bought them....good aesthetics. We had a kitchenaid stove before and it was not a good appliance so I knew better but as I said I loved the look. This glass stove top is so hard to clean that it borders on ridiculous. If anyone has the secret for cleaning these cooktop I would love to know. It like the glass is porous.
I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the KitchenAid slide‑in range I chose your brand because of its reputation for quality and reliability, but this product has fallen far below even the most basic expectations. From the start, the range has consistently underperformed and created ongoing issues cloudy glass top even cleaning after every use, the stove has been inpossabile to clean even after 5 times per your instuctions no appliance at this price point should have these issues. The design and functionality feel poorly executed, and the overall experience has been extremely unsatisfactory. At this stage, I can confidently say that this is the worst major appliance I have ever owned
I would give zero ratings if I could. The top control panel, which is the most obvious thing you look at when you see this stove, developed sub-surface spots in the stainless steel after about 6 months. I called customer service and they coolly stated that doesn't interfere with the operation of my stove, so they would consider that cosmetic and that is only covered for 30 days from purchase. Not sure how you can get away with that in this day and age, but if you are buying stainless steel apliances for their "cosmetics", stay away from this brand.
I had my kitchen aid range installed Saturday but the electronic control panel does not work without turning a knob on the heating element. Very strange. Also for good information you cannot get a kitchen aid range that will overlap granite countertop. No one told me. You have to special order a trim to put around it to cover gap unless you want liquids or food to fall in the gap. To me this was important to know. Not a happy person right now
