(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I love my mixer. It's the most expensive small appliance I own. I remember buying it with one of my first pay cheques. I leave it on my counter, proudly displayed to remind me of my hard work and favourite passion!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded my mixer to this one and I am so amazed. I use it at least 3 times a week. It is so powerful, the mixing time is cut by at least 25%, has enough power to kneed several batches of bread dough. Just be careful when you start this up, it starts slow, but I was shocked at how quickly it comes up to speed. First time I used it, I got covered in flour. LOL....but it was most certainly one of the best purchases for my kitchen.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was bought for me as a gift for my Birthday, and I'm FOREVER grateful! I am a Professional Pastry Chef that bakes out of my home, and I don't know how I've survived this long without it! I look forward to many years of baking with this awesome mixer!!!! The capacity, the splash guard, the attachments, and the POWER are all TOP NOTCH! Best piece of equipment in my kitchen!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third KitchenAid mixer. Gave the other 2 away to relatives that needed a stand mixer. I ordered this from Bed Bath & Beyond. This is a great machine EXCEPT for the paddle, dough hook, and whipper that came with this mixer. They are aluminum BUT they are not plated. So, when you wash them and dry them immediately the aluminum somehow oxidizes and rubs off in your hand or worse in the food mixture. I called Kitchenaid about this and they promptly sent out a new paddle and dough hook. When you open the box make sure that the paddle, hook, and whipper are at least plated and not bare aluminum.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Gave my 20 yr old tilt head 4.5qt mixer to my son and granddaughter. Miss it, was excited to get a larger mixer for bigger batches for homemade cakes I make. It makes a loud, tinny noise, definitely not as quiet. My first cake did not mix up as well, softened butter did not get creamy but little chunks, didn't want to over beat my batter. Haven't used it again yet. Plan to call the company during weekly business hours, wish there were weekend hours!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to receive my new KitchenAid mixer for Christmas. As a long time user of a 4.5 quart KitchenAid mixer I was looking forward to one with a larger bowl. I am disappointed that the included attachments are not DISHWASHER SAFE! Who in this day and age, does not supply dishwasher safe attachments for a mixer that will see a lot of use. My older KitchenAid's attachments are dishwasher safe and saw many years of use - without any chipping! When I wrote customer service about not having dishwasher safe attachments included in an expensive mixer, their reply was very disappointing. "Some people prefer the look of the burnished attachments and don't want to risk the coating on the coated attachments "chipping off". And different models come with different attachments. You can always purchase the coated ones." Come on. Since when is a supposedly stainless steel wire whisk not dishwasher safe! If some people don't what to risk the coating chipping off the dishwasher safe ones, then at least include stainless steel attachments and not 'burnished" ones. I'd be more afraid of a metal film coming off a "burnished" one to ruin my white mix/frosting then a piece of coating chipping off the coated ones! I've had a 'burnished' ice cream dipper. After a few washings, can't use it anymore because of the metal film trail it makes when dipping into ice cream! Get with it KitchenAid make sure your mixers always include dishwasher safe attachments - either stainless steel or coated. And the least customer service could have done, was offer to exchange the 'burnished' ones I received, with dishwasher safe ones or just send dishwasher safe ones. Who looks to make sure everything is dishwasher safe on an expensive stand mixer! Especially after being a loyal KitchenAid stand mixer user for over 20 years! I'd recommend it only if you make sure the attachments are dishwasher safe in the "model" you are buying!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have owned a KitchenAid mixer for many years. The performance is great; however, the last mixer I purchased approximately three years ago was a Pro 600 series. This stopped working. There are no local vendors that will do repairs thus I had to purchase another Pro 600. It is very disappointing that a KitchenAid mixer only lasted three years. I do hope this recent purchase does not fall into the same situation.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a Kitchen Aid mixer that is 38 years old - made by Hobart. It works fine. The new mixer I ordered made a disturbing grinding noise when I turned it on. I conferred with a pastry chef friend. She listened to it and said "probably the ball bearings." Sorry to learn that the Kitchen Aid mixers are no longer made by Hobart. I returned the 600 series mixer and am sticking with my tried and true one. This site apparently requires at least a rating of one star. I'd give zero if possible.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did not receive my free ice cream maker when I ordered this mixer. It does a good job of mixing bread but it is very loud and sounds at times as though the motor struggles to knead bread dough. I bought this to replace another kitchen aid mixer that I had for 10 years.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 6-qt. mixer fell apart with the first use! Pieces literally fell out of the beater area. So, sadly, even though my mom had a tilt-stand mixer when I was a kid and I'm still using its 30-yr. old replacement (makes odd noises occasionally but still chugging along), I can't suggest that anyone buy a new 6-qt "professional" mixer from KitchenAid. So sorry.
