This is a well made can opener. It is heavier than most of them. This is designed to last a long time. Most can openers you buy at stores are flimsy . This one is designed to last a long time. The can openers at the grocery stores last 1-2 years and they are difficult to use. I recommend buying this one.

The handles are plastic. If i knew this, I wouldn't have purchased it. I was replacing a manual can opener that broke because of this very reason. The item description said, stainless steel and I thought th we "whole" can opener was stainless steel; not so.
