it was either try these, have my 2 cats declawed (NOPE!), or move out of our new apartment. the adhesive is basically a 'pet safe' type of super glue. it can be tricky to get the right amount into the cap- one drop from the 'tube' is all that's needed. my arthritic hands might be part of the problem with this? it's a one time deal for each tube of adhesive- once the tip is cut it dries out fairly quickly. there was enough in 1 tube to do both of my cats' front paws. the glue dries too fast to put it into more than 1 nail cap at a time. PRACTICE putting caps onto their claws without the glue first. the large size is more along the lines for dogs, the medium size is a good fit for adult cats. instructions are VERY easy to follow! have to be careful to NOT get any of the glue on their paw fur. if this happens, it can be taken off with nail polish remover, q-tips, and PATIENCE- rinse with water extremely well when done. my 2 year old chewed the caps off within 4 hours the first time, chewed them off within 2 days with the second time, and he's ignored them after that. the first time they were put on my 9 year old she chewed off 2 of her nails to the quick but then left the rest of them alone and she's ignored them ever since.
