I have never used a paint thinner (rather than a paint stripper) before, but it was the perfect solution for my walls. My walls were painted with a mechanical sprayer, which resulted in a different hue to the walls than if they were just painted with paint straight out of the can. Apparently, walls painted with a sprayer are watered down enough that the color is lighter/the paint is significantly thinner. I tried just adding water to dilute the original paint, only to find that the blemishes (nicks and scratches in the paint) still showed through. Also, the areas of the wall that I tried to touch up looked darker/stood out after drying. How can the SAME PAINT not match when on the walls, when this paint was the same paint that supposedly painted the very walls that I am trying to match? I made a concoction of about equal parts of Klean Strip paint thinner to paint and the solution was the perfect blend! The result (see before and after pictures in the attached photos, noting in particular the painted areas adjacent to the wooden corner guard) was just what my walls needed. Note that this paint thinner achieved the desired outcome even though I did not have to prime the walls first. I painted right over plaster and the paint/paint thinner blend was the right shade (without being translucent). Darker areas of the walls were covered without the paint appearing darker. The resulting paint effect was what a sprayer finish would have looked like--while eliminating the need to prime (saving both time and money). I appreciate that this paint thinner did not stink or have stinky/chemical aromas (the "green" paint thinner aspect of this product). Klean Strip thinner was effortless to use/pour (looked like milk) and easily cleaned the paint off my brushes. I love this product!
I used this paint thinner to clean my paint brushes after I painted my new front door. I was able to reuse my brushes several times with little effort to clean them using this product. There was very little to no odor unlike most other paint thinner products that I've used in the past. I didn't feel the drying residue on my hands that I've experienced with other products. I will continue to choose this paint thinner for future projects.
I like the idea of using a product that is topnotch but to boot it's safe for the environment!! What's not to love about a green product that gets the job done! Klean-Strip® Green™ Paint Thinner is kind of milky white but that's ok because once you start using it, you will see it work its magic by cleaning up paint spills which I have a lot of when the handyman comes in spilling paint droplets all over!! You can also use it to thin oil base paint. I am so glad to have in my home a safe product that can be used around children and pets without worry of by products in its make-up. I can't wait to use it to clean my paint brushes and so much more!!!!
I have used this product for years. It does a wonderful job at thinning paint and cleaning brushes. I have used it withy bare hands without any skin irritation and it is accepted by my sanitation department, regular paint thinner has to be specially handled and deposed of.
I was curious to try this product, as it was touted to not have any strong chemical odor. I used it to clean my brush after painting on a petroleum based Kilz primer, which required mineral spirits or acetone for clean up. First thing I noticed, the Klean Strip Green Paint Thinner has virtually no smell at all. I poured an adequate amount into a glass jar and submerged my paint brush into the solution for about 15 minutes. The solution is a milky white color and has the consistency of milk (a little thicker than regular mineral spirits which is like water). After soaking for 15 minutes, I wiped the bristles with a paper towel and that was it! Not even an 'after smell' on my fingers after wiping the brush and squeezing it dry on the paper towels. Regular mineral spirits might work a tad faster, but with that speed comes the smell associated with regular paint thinner. I know that I'll never use traditional paint thinner again.
Klean Strip Paint thinner really does clean my paint brushes easily and the odor is not overwhelming like most thinners. I dont do a lot of projects that require paint and I dont have much patience for clean up, but this product makes it so easy to clean up my project messes. I had some older paint brushes that I had cleaned with other products, but thought I would try Klean Strip just to see if it worked......It does!!!!! My old brushes look almost new.
I like this product. I have sensitive skin and this didn't break me out like other brands. Works well to remove paint off tile, wood, and ceramic. That's what I used it on. On my wood floor I just dabbed a little on a rag and the paint came right off. Did not harm my floor. The only reason I did not give five stars for this product, it takes a little longer for the removal of paint from my brushes. I had to let them soak overnight.
I thought this would be good since it is eco friendly. But you really need to read what it is good for. I thought I could use it for any type of paintbrush like natural bristle ones, but you really should only use it for nylon brushes. And you can use it to clean pans, buckets, rollers, stirring tools, foam applicators and spray equipment. It's non-toxic, non combustible, more gentle on skin than standard paint thinner, low voc and no ozone depleting chemicals. And once opened it will only be good for six months, which is disappointing. I don't paint often so would like for this to last longer. I like it to clean any paint off of my hands because it does not smell strong like mineral spirits.
I ordered a gallon Muriatic Acid, and Walmart sent me a quart of paint thinner. Stated we replaced your ordered item with an item equally suitable. YIKES POOL MURIATIC ACID IS THE SAME AS PAINT THINNER! A GALLON IS THE SAME AS A QUART! INCONVENIENT
I didn't get the product because the website designers and employees can't figure out the difference between GALLONS and QUARTS. I told them to cancel the order because they were trying to give me 2 QUARTS instead of honoring the receipt showing I paid for 2 GALLONS. Besides website designer and employees that don't understand the difference between GALLONS and QUARTS your website does not give enough info on what's actually in it so I can check on safety issues.
