Klein Tools MM600 1000V Digital Auto-Ranging HVAC Multimeter

Great meter for the money. Bought meter to check the voltage and frequency of my stand-alone generator. Was able to adjust them to where they had to be. I also needed to check a capacitor on my furnace fan motor. Worked great Love my new Klein meter. Well worth the money. It is a ruggedly built tool.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let me start by saying i have an extremely limited amount of knowledge when it comes to anything electrical. I can wire a receptacle, repair cords, and run wire to make stuff energized, but up until i bought this, i didnt even know the difference in AC and DC. I needed to do a pretty good amount of continuity and voltage tests on my vehicle due to it not starting, so i had to get a multimeter. Never owned one, never operated one, and sure as crap didnt know how to. I just knew that klein was pretty much the univeral go to brand for electric testing equipment. This was a higher end choice, without spending too much money, and after using it for about a month, im glad i went with it. I spent a day learning about it, all the functions, etc. and it has everything i needed. Its so easy to use, it doesnt make you second guess yourself, and you will have a lot of fun trying it out. Its one of those purchases that didnt keep me up at night wondering if i had spent too much money. 100% reccomend!

I have owned this meter for over a year now and have ZERO problems with it. For those that state they can't read DC, please read your manual. You must navigate to the correct Voltage Type to read DC. Try pressing the orange select [SEL] button.

I have had a few other various brand multimeters and this Klein MM600 has been by far one of the better ones. The only complaint I have is the backlight turns off when you're using the MM. other than that it was great. I still have my MM600, but after seeing the MM720 at homedepot and seeing that black display with white numbers I immediately had to buy it. Now I have one for my automotive toolbox and one for my small electronics toolbox. I have had my MM600 for about 6 - 7 years and works just like new.

As stated by a previous post the DC does not work but the AC works fine. As a mechanic i use the DC more then AC. The multimeter is only 4 months old.

As others have stated, quit reading g DC. As a mechanic this is what I need most. Lasted two years. Won't be buying Klein again.

Failed after two uses. Won't read DC side at all! Reads AC no problem. I have tried clicking through the ranges with no luck. Couldn't even read a 12v car battery! Never will I recommend Klien tools! Steer clear. Just a waste of money.

Plugged in the K type thermocouple to compare to a temperature datalogger that I intended to use. 18 deg F off with observed polarity following the instructions. Checked against a liquid thermometer and yes indeed 18 deg F off. Not even close.
