Circuit analyzer PLUS!!

AllmikeG March 29, 2023

I've used some circuit analyzers before but not like this! Not only will it just hot check your receptacle circuit but also give you the amp draw. There are quite a few features such as testing your art fault protection breakers, ground fault protection breakers, testing correct wiring for GFCI circuits, testing correct wiring for regular receptacle branch circuit. This is the best tool to use if you're going to find somebody and checking their work! Besides visual craftsmanship this goes behind the cover plate through the conductors into the panel and it is your eyes and brain through the circuit. Worth every penny!

Circuit Analyzer

Best one out there, small enough to keep on your everyday carry pouch or bag. Works great. Highly recommend.

Best Arc Fault Trip on the Market

Fred Flintstone March 30, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] By far best arc fault tester on the market. Clear visuals and super bright when in the dark. Easy plug in on tamper resistant receptacles makes service calls east on the back with built in three prong cord.

Doing a new large project where a ton of M/C was ran . Lables get ruined or sometimes guys mess up labels and you end up troubleshooting. This helped big time

Wonderful tool for troubleshooting etc

Starsurf10 March 31, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually have owned the previous model to this new one and it works great. It's a big help during some troubleshooting scenarios. I really like the updated version and think I'll probably buy it!

Almost perfect!

ATownElectric November 25, 2024

What an amazing tool this is to keep in the bag! Features that I don't know that I needed on a daily basis, but are super handy. I like having the AFCI test function, and a nice large display. I also like that it uses a standard power cord, so, when (not if) I lose this little guy, I can find one almost anywhere. The ONLY thing that I think would make this better, is if it somehow integrated with the ET450 receiver wand, or, some sort of receiver wand to help identify the circuit. Might be a niche, but the more I can do with less, the quicker I can resolve issues.

Extremely simple to use

SparkyTy March 31, 2023

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the steel mill, we often run into a lot of circuits that are hard to identify. This comes in handy to find exactly what we need to work on.

Most functions are crippled in common use cases

orangekay December 28, 2024

Compared to the Ideal tester that comes in a similar form factor at a much greater price, the RT390 boots faster, doesn't need to reboot at all during a GFCI test, is easier to read and implements RMS math that is in much greater agreement with every other meter I own. It doesn't display quite the same volume of measurements but I have never found the extra impedance metrics the Ideal presents to be terribly accurate or of tremendous value in daily life. Where the Klein really falls down for me is the way it shuts off every single function of the tester when it encounters an open ground. Since GFCI outlets are the simplest way to make an ungrounded system safe and legal it is utterly baffling that Klein would choose to make it impossible to test them with what is ostensibly their flagship tester. Since there's no obvious way to flash new firmware on the thing, this makes its value proposition somewhat questionable. Why spend this much on a tester that requires you to carry around a second one that can handle everything the fancy one balks at?
