Great little sub!

TJ in LA May 18, 2021

Great sub for a small-to-medium room. It's small enough to locate almost anywhere, but don't be fooled by the size. This sub delivers excellent, tight bass and should enhance any set of good bookshelf speakers.

Exactly what I would expect from a klipsch subwoofer

feel the base

Will March 15, 2025

for my size living room, these offer gread sound and feel. i have 9.4, so I'll be getting more later. so if you feel a 10 or 12 inch would be too much or you want a two or four sub surround, i say these put out good i am not disappointed.

Deep, Strong and Clean!

Walter May 31, 2017

I replaced a good Polk PSW 10" sub with this 8" sub and it has deeper base, more power and a better/cleaner power supply. It is primarily for my home theater system in a large (15'x17') living room with 15' ceiling: 70" Sony 1080p/Harman Kardon AVR-3600 receiver/Infinity TSS 1200 5.1 AV speakers. The original 12" Infinity stopped functioning, and this 8" Klipsch sub is insignificantly close in performance to the 12" when it was new. Again, it is cleaner, and has more "thump/rumble" than the Polk 10" sub I had been using since the 12" died, and it does not break up and distort like the 10" did even when at higher output levels.

Love it

Music-what I do April 7, 2017

I live in a small apartment. I have the R-15 system and only use it for digital music. On stands they were lacking bass. This subwoofer did the trick. It's perfect for my application. Love my Klipsch products!

Music is Life

Love music!! May 20, 2017

I purchased this to add to the new pair of The Sixes (which are excellent). I prefer a lot of bass. This did the trick. Not enough for home theater but perfect for my 2.1 phono set up.

R8-SW power from the bottom

Kloakmunk October 10, 2024

I got the sub while i bought the klipsch the fives and was not going to use it at first. But i plugged it in and wow it makes the cherry on the top for sure. It hade that OOMPH you need. I got 2 subwoofer playing along and it isnt the same without the R8-SW for sure. I am totally happy i plugged it in for fun. Now it stays in the middle of my room and i love it. It gets 4 because it is a bit fiddle around to get the gain right. It is pounding alot of air but it can talk over the other soundpicture alot. But if you love bass its a must. Just wondering how much it can take before i brake it. I play alot but not that loud. I wish i could play louder but my setup isnt that great. It sound a bit harsh when going loud. But its good. Recommend the fives too. They are great together.

Mixed Feelings

Theodore April 9, 2020

I have mixed feelings about this sub. I will be upgrading to a 12in eventually. Its has good sound, but it can't handle the gain that built into it. It will bottom out on lower tones, but handles mid bass very well. If treat as a delicate flower it will sound smooth and clear, but if you really want to thump like a 90s house party, this is not that sub. You will have to turn the gain down and make adjustments. Certain scenes while watching movies it will bottom out if the tone is to low. But I can say that I do like the sub, I just require more.
