Klymit Static V Luxe SL Slim Lightweight Inflatable Camping Sleeping Pad, Blue

I am 6’8, 340 lb, a side sleeper, and newer to camping. This means I am probably the harshest imaginable test case for a sleeping pad. Fortunately, I love this thing! I’ve used it probably five or so times now and it has held up quite well. I won’t pretend like I am getting hotel-quality sleep on a sleeping pad in a tent, but I can fall asleep and stay asleep very easily with little issue. Also very easy to inflate with just my lungs. Highly recommended!

Packs down super small. Good solid trustworthy material that I don't have to worry about. Yes, it could be more comfortable with a thin layer of foam , but that would prevent it from packing down so small. Enough thickness for comfortable back sleeping. Some people have mentioned that side sleeping on it is uncomfortable, but that's literally every sleeping pad short of a 6in foam pad. The v-shaped piping prevent any caving-in effects where typical straight tube piping style pads usually would. Plus I feel the shape of the tubing helps you stay centered on the pad while sleeping.

Quality mattress, does allow for some side sleeping. Packs up nice and small for wilderness use. Fantastic warranty if it ever is needed.

Great pad for car camping! I used it on a weekend trip this winter and it was perfect. It packs down great, inflates/deflates with ease, is very supportive, and insulates nicely. I especially enjoy the larger footprint as I tend to move in my sleep. Great for any level of outdoor enthusiast!

For almost 20 years I have been backpacking and camping. The Static V Luxe CL is my 4th sleeping pad and was impressed out of the box with it. 1) the weight is much lighter that I would expect. I have used mostly back packing pads and they have been much heavier than this one. 2) the comfort! This pad is long! I am only 5'9" and I toss and turn when I sleep. The fact that the Static V Luxe said it was designed for side sleepers like me was a great selling point. The design of the pad not only makes it really comfortable (on my back and sides), but it was not really tough to inflate either.

I already own a static v by kylmit but we recently bought a new tent and wanted sleeping pads that filled up the floor space of the tent a little bit better. This ended up being exactly what I needed. Slightly thicker and wider than the original and a quieter material makes sleeping no problem. I know some people don't like the static v series and complain that they still feel the ground but this is more for a back sleeper in my opinion and if you sleep on it that way you will have no problems.

HEAVY but luxurious. If you don't have to carry this, it's a great option. If you do, I'd look elsewhere for a sleeping pad that won't slow you down.

These pads are great if you want something cheap. Will they give you the best night of sleep ever? Not exactly. But if you are backpacking on a budget, and you want something decently comfortable this will do. I did car camp with it once in my outback and it was fine in a pinch. If you can spring for the insulated version, I would.

I bought my first Klymit pad years ago and it started deflating after 5-6 uses with no visible leaks (did all the tests). They sent me a refurbished one, which lasted a couple of years. That finally deflated the same way. I bought another one recently, and it only lasted one night. Fully deflated on night 2. No visible leaks (did the water test). I am very careful with these pads. There's something wrong in the design/manufacturing; they leak air from the valves or across all the seams very slowly.
