I just bought a 2015 Ford F-250 FX4 King Ranch and wanted some better gas mileage (diesel). The instructions included were spot on for my make and model. I used a simple set of hand tools and nothing more. Installation took me about 2 hours. I had some rain come down so it could've taken me an hour to assemble and install. Great look under the hood. Tight fit but a good tight fit. After installation my gas mileage increased around 14 to 16 mpg give or take. It helps!! My gears shift more smooth especially the lower gears. I did notice a nice deep sound under the engine and through the exhaust. You will notice after the first start. Worth the money and time. Recommended 100%. Great piece of enginering.
Very easy to install and gives the truck a better sound - with 440 horsepower and 860 lb-ft under the hood stock it is difficult to tell a difference in power with the addition of this unit, though based on the power curves for the 2012 Ford 6.7 I would expect a 2015 to be somewhere around 455 peak horsepower and close to 900 lb-ft of torque at the crankshaft with this intake.
Had no problem installing this kit. I noticed the truck is a lot more snappier on the throttle. I have noticed a small fuel mileage increase as well. The engine sounded a bit more throatier too, but not so much as to make me dislike the extra noise. One issue I had with the kit which took me a month to realize - There is a small diameter steel line dead head with a black plastic cap (not sure what part of the engine this is connected to) that sticks up and touches the metal K&N enclosure. I''d park my truck and hear this horrible vibrating noise. After opening the hood, I realized it was the dead head pipe, and bent the K&N filter housing just slightly out of the way. I am also tempted to bend the dead head, but am worried about breaking it.
Easy to install. Included pictures to help with the install actually helped. New sound of truck is much deeper and throatier. Need to pull fifth wheel first to see if power increase is noticed.
Very good purchasing assistance, prompt delivery, great install information making for streamline project. Definately would do business again. Thanks.
Just got it installed two weeks ago and very pleased!
Easy to install. Excellent fit and designed. Can’t wait to pull my trailer and see how it does.
5 Star Review
Let me qualify myself first. I was an auto mechanic for General Motors and then graduated up to big rigs, working on Detroit Diesel, Cummins NTC & B series engines, Cat engines and Macks. But it has been awhile. I went to install this Air intake and almost decided not to just looking at the directions. Very poorly done instructions, pictures were all grainy and fuzzy. This was important so you could figure out the direction of the heat shields. Thank God for the schematic. Some of the bolts and washers were missing in the bag, the integral threading for the brackets to tie off wiring was too big for any of the bolts. Instructions that came were also marked for a 2015 F250 not the 2016 and there are differences. All in all it took 2.5 hours to install it going step by step. The air filter vacuum meter is unreadable in its location, and the filter is a tight fit getting in there. I will say you do not need to remove the battery cables, lots of room there, to be safe drape a fender cover over it or a mouse pad. Would also have been nice if there were some fender push pins in the bag. I will review performance later, after I get som miles on it
