Seems like quality. Everyone I know has had bad luck with kn filters but of course I learned this after getting one. This paired with a bully dog tuner and oh boy. Huge difference in power and it sounds awesome. My truck went from a town truck to powerhouse.
Just installed this on my 2013 Denali Yukon XL. After watching the installation video, installation was easy and took about 20 minutes. I've been wanting to get this for a while as I could feel my motor suffocating when trying to accelerate onto the highway, etc. This unit completely solved my issue and freed up the motor to do what it really can....Noticeable increase in horsepower and now I have a smooth shifting transition when I stomp on it. And the sound ROCKS! Definitely a must buy if you're thinking about it.
First off I'm lucky enough to live less than an hour drive from Jegs hq and I ordered this kit Tuesday at 10pm and I signed for the delivery Wednesday around 8 am. Install was relatively easy. Took me about an hour, would've been quicker if my fat fingers wouldn't drop hardware as much. Did notice increase in take off, and like others have said when you put your foot in it the growl is awesome. Going to track mpg to see if I get improvement, but will be hard not to hammer down.
Just installed this on my 2013 Chevy Silverado . Install was super easy. Took it for a test drive brought a huge smile to my face. Worth every penny. Sounds great, horsepower increases great, throttle response great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who feels their vehicle is lacking a little bit of excitement. Have fun, be safe and remember a squealing tire is a happy tire.
WOW! I received this today and already have it installed on my 2011 Sierra Denali 6.2L. Super smooth install and after a little cruise, did I say WOW!? Well, it's worth saying twice. I can easily tell it lets the motor breath much better and makes it noticeably more responsive when I hit the gas. I was thinking of adding and aftermarket performance exhaust to get a more throaty sound out of my truck, but not any more. With this intake, my truck sounds wicked when I want it to yet civilized when I need it to. Thanks K&N!!
I've been using the K&November for 3 months now. The increase in acceleration was insane. Now if you get on it a lot your mileage goes down hill tremendously. But I've been driving normal and with my Chevy 6.2 liter I went from 12.9-13.1 MPG to 13.9-14.1 MPG with premium gas. You can hear the difference in the intake and exhaust system. I highly recommend the intake either for performance or as a replacement for factory-installed air cleaner which is very restrictive.
I noticed the torque difference right off first drive out. Installed this on a 2012 Denali 6.2. The 6.2 actually has an easier and faster speed pickup from stop to speed limit with light pedal application. Although I have always used K&N Filters, this is my first Cold Air Intake. I like this product. Money well spent, and I installed it myself. Thank you K&N.
I love it! Got rid of the stock very restrictive intake on my 12 Silverado and replaced it with this! Instant difference I notice a little more pick up coming from a dead stop. And I love the black finish looks super clean in the engine bay did have to do some drilling but otherwise pretty easy install. My only complaint is the intake tube was bent slightly on the end where it goes to the throttle body from shipping or I'm not sure. But it doesn't hinder the performance any. Overall I'd highly recommend this for any Silverado.
It's easy to install and the black looks great under the hood. When you install something like "cold air intake" the computer doesn't recognize what happened for a bit. After I put the blackhawk system on, I drove the truck like I stole it for a whole tank of fuel... now I can really notice a difference in performance through all the rpms
I bought the intake kit mostly for better fuel economy . It was straight forward and easy to install. I can feel the Horse power difference , no hard data , I have seen only a slight difference in mileage . I am going to seal up the box better ,even with the supplied gasket there are still gaps, I hope that helps.
