Amazing addition to my 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Noticeable acceleration and aggressive sound! Great fuel mileage at the same time! While on the highway, I noticed my 4Runner only used a quarter tank of gas for a 150 mile trip. And I kept passing up other vehicles on the road with no hassle.
This helps my engine push out tons of power, much more than the stock intake gave me. I would get the plastic one instead of the metal one. The metal one retains heat more, therefore making all of the cold air entering the intake heat up. Even still, this was a great purchase. It fit like a glove when I installed it. I highly recommend this for everyone who owns a 4Runner or FJ Cruiser.
A true cold air intake! This thing actually routes air more effectively and is the best out of few options for 2020-2022 4Runners. I noticed not only a dramatic increase in acceleration but better throttle response and about a mile per gallon better for my mpgs. I highly recommend this item and the sound this thing makes as it whistles and whines tops it all off!
Model 63-9034 installed in a 2014 FJ Cruiser, after some internal recalibration the vehicle has a noticeable increase in acceleration and slightly more throatiness sound. The instructions were spot on
Easy install. Great directions and it sounds goooooood. Tested it and definitely increases horse power.
Great addition to my FJ Cruiser. Noticeable increase in throttle response and exhaust note
I've had K&N products in my last four vehicles over the last 30-years with no complaints. My most recent install was their intake for my 2023 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium. It works great with my only concern is that part of the air box covers the power steering reservoir. I could probably fish a small funnel in there sans removing the air box's top plate. Just means I'll have to be sure and carry a 4mm hex wrench with me.
It performs very well. With that said I donate to admit that I was taken aback when I see that part of the new air box covers the lid to the power steering reservoir.
4 Star Review
I really don’t like that this intake doesn’t mate to the fender, thus it allows hot engine air to enter the intake. Not sure how this qualifies as a true “cold air intake.†The stock intake actually functions as a cold air intake and mates to the fender, which pulls in cold air from the bottom of the front fender. Also, it made my dashboard light up with all sorts of check engine notifications/codes. This eventually went away on its own after a few months and then came back on and went back off. Not sure if this is due to the oil getting on the mass airflow sensor. Much louder than I expected. The constant noise gets annoying on my 4Runner. No real noticeable horsepower gains. I think the increase in noise can create a bit of a placebo effect and make you think it that the horsepower increased more than it actually increased. Improved gas milage by about 1mpg. All in all, I feel like buying and installing this intake was a downgrade on my 4Runner.
